Default Can Film-Noir be overrepresented... like ever?

Hmmmm, this looks completely wrong. I think there is a bug somewhere on Blu-ray.com...

I had a look at my Collection Statistics and it showed the following:
Relative genre distribution: Overrepresented: Film-Noir
I mean, is that even possible, Noir being overrepresented?

What if Red Desert went out of print? You think that will be gone in no time or would it be a testament to the unimportance of Antonioni? But the importance of Nicolas Roeg and David Bowie is higher than ever, thanks to the language that we speak.
I mainly said it because I knew it'd get your panties in a bunch, and you'd come running ever so quickly to his rescue.

Funny, the last title, Pierrot le Fou is in the top 15 above I would take it, alot of things (you know, "the importants").
Let's be fair and not skew things too much... Pierre was also one of the first blus released, so it's had a lot longer time to be in this "top 15".. so we don't have to pretend that it's because it's as great as, say, Seven Samurai. Give the other titles the same time to sell.

If you are so elitist against this tawdry American language, why don't you move somewhere better?

sure. So your are clearly saying you just gave bull**** so you can have me reply? Isn't there a word for that? You wake up, get on the computer, and troll the hell out of someone so they can give you a reply, just so you can reply with "ha, you came to his rescue like I knew you would". And you call me names like pretentious and elitist. I replied to your post because it was opinion-based bullcrap covered up as some fact.

Never said that (when did I say I was against the English language?). I was pointing out facts. We live in an English language country. DVD sales represent that we buy English language films before any other (even the crap ones). Every country has crappy films, it was facts to go against your post, which just seemed to be just starting s***, according to your "I mainly said it because I knew it'd get your panties in a bunch, and you'd come running ever so quickly to his rescue" reason of just giving false reasons about something.

Wrong again. It's the recent top 15. It wouldn't have Island of Lost Souls being #1 if it was "all-time".

Naw, it's just cute how you love to voice your opinion, and put down things other people like, but when someone does it back you can never seem to take it. It's okay though, It's fun. As for being a troll, you responded exactly like I thought you would... hmm how would I know if there wasn't precedent? It's just predictable, tiresome behavior.

As for "starting s***, you do it way more than I do. Let's count how many posts where you put down Kurosawa, Seven Samurai, etc. Let's not play the victim here. You dish it out, but why can't you take it?

Oh, so it's a recent top 15... so this is after people KNOW its OOP, so it makes the list. Again, nothing surprising there, yet nothing revealing either.

I don't believe I do it to one person in mind, in hopes for him to reply back. I say I dislike Seven Samurai. I don't say "Kurosawa is not important these days because I think (don't know, kind of like a Fox News way of saying things) he doesn't sell! Man, I hope so-and-so reads this!".

Yeah, and the other 2 OOPs were hot sellers too when they were announced OOP. My point was you said "THE OOP" Pierrot doesn't sell because Godard isn't important. But it does. The end. It's a double standard. You say the OOP movie doesn't sell like the other OOP movies. But then when it's shown that it does, you say because it's OOP. Now either we are talking about your false claim or what you said it was all along, just to start something with 1 person in mind.

Oh, and stop with the "me being a victim" crap. I responded to you. You responded back saying you were throwing bait my way. You sort out whoever started what and MOVE ON.

This is Devolving rather quickly. Any chance to kiss and make up? I just bought the magician last night and loved it. Gonna go on a Bergman binge.

Ya, The Magician is great isn't it? I really like The Seventh Seal and Persona as well. (I need to see more Bergman)

I'm one of those who will recommend The Double Life of Véronique.

Also, for those short of cash, don't forget that Walmart has a handful of Criterions that are always below $20. Check out walmart and maybe some blurays on your list can wait for later.

Is there any news on a Criterion edition of "The Royal Tenenbaums" Blu-Ray release?

If true, then do yourself a great service by picking up all the titles released on DVD in the UK by Tartan. There are a great number of Bergman films not released in the USA.

LOL it devolved years ago hearing Seven Samurai sucks over and over, yet Godard is the greatest. I guess only some people can have opinions on here without other people taking it personally, for some weird reason. Oh well.

And yes, go on a Bergman binge. Did you order Fanny & Alexander?

Haha yes I planned my whole day around you. That's the Godard ego speaking through you, I guess? Like how you are sitting here waiting for my replies?

At least Godard made a play to try and NOT be predictable.

Yeah I ordered it. Unfortunately that's also call of duty day and my work is gonna be crazy so I won't have time to view till later. Definitely gonna go on a Bergman binge tomorrow though. Anything I can get my hands on now is getting purchased.

So, what does one do if they need a replacement case for a movie that isn't offered on the website and Mulvaney isn't answering your emails? I need a case for Red Desert. Any suggestions?

I have a suggestion - just go buy another copy. If you're successful with coupons you could get it for a little more than ten bucks which is right around what one replacement case would cost with shipping.

I don't live near a B&N. So that isn't an option.

The AQ and PQ specs of this Blu-ray are very good; they scanned at 4k and did some major clean-up work on the dust, scratches, and splice marks. Plus the background features are rich and interesting, although skewed a bit toward Ryûichi Sakamoto's participation, who both co-starred in and scored the film. When Criterion released this title, I thought it was among the best Blu's in their collection, since equalled by many others, of course. Overall though, a top tier package or darn close.
Thank you very much for your thoughts and suggestions. I can't wait to dive into more Ôshima.

Did you need a replacement for the artwork as well or just a case?

Here is the cases:

http://www.criterion.com/shop_produc...ay-amaray-case

If you need artwork replacement too, keep e-mailing Mulvaney. He'll respond. (e-mail him Sunday night, maybe he will get to it first thing on Monday morning).

I picked these up at the store today, and I'm going to order more online since I have an online gift certificate.

This is the first time I have money while the sale is going on, so I'm going nuts this year.
Just ordered these online:

Beauty And The Beast
The Leopard
The Red Shoes
Last Year At Marienbad
Island of Lost Souls

I'm sure I will be buying more before the sale is over.
