There is no commentary on T.T.R.L. Criteron disc.
He did a featurette on the editing of TTRL with Leslie Jones and Saar Klein.

I just finished watching Belle de jour, which I received from Netflix this weekend. Great film...but definitely not my favorite Bunuel. I'm still looking forward to two of Bunuel's other films...The Discreet Charm of the Bourgeoisie (with Delphine Seyrig, of Last Year at Marienbad fame) and The Exterminating Angel...receiving an upgrade by Criterion.

Naked, for sure. If they are blind-buys, Black Moon, or especially, Insignificance probably aren't the best choices

Unfortunately Discreet Charm is OOP from Criterion and thus won't be receiving an upgrade barring them getting the rights back

I'm holding onto hope...or at least the possibility of a solid region-free release from someone overseas.

I would go with Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence , simply because this title has had such a shabby history on home video. Criterion's Blu-ray is from a 4K scan, and it's superbly remastered.

And if you're unfamiliar with Oshima, it also offers a nifty 'Oshima-lite' introduction to his style.

Of the two I also prefer The Naked Kiss. Guess psychiatric hospital movies just don't do much for me anymore. (Still hate those covers though. )

If I weren't such a jackwad prude for people using some form of proper grammar, then I'd be more than happy to help you accomplish something that you're more than capable of doing on your own. If you don't mind retyping everything with a bit more proper capitalization and punctuation, I'll be more than happy to honestly give you some recommendations. I'm not saying everything has to be perfect, but sometimes a little effort goes a long way. I think Jesus said that.

No no, thanks for the opinion. It's a complete blind buy for me. I'll read some more reviews and decide from there. I only read the BD.com review and synopsis and it seemed interesting to me.

Amazon usually has prices low around Black Friday for Criterions.
Is this definite every single year? Because if this sale ends on the 21st and I wait for Amazon and they can't match the prices then I'm really going to kick myself for not pulling the trigger. I compared every BD from B&N.com to Amazon and all of them were at least $5 cheaper.

Picked up Bigger than Life and Kagemusha.

I officially declare my self done with this sale. My 1 blu-ray turned into:

Salo
The Phantom Carriage
Island of Lost Souls
Cul-de-Sac
Night of the Hunter
Bigger Than Life
Kagemusha.

At least this year my criterions went from 0 to 15

This type of elitist attitude is what kept me from ever wanting to purchase a criterion title...However i have chatted with many laid back ppl in the criterion thread to know that your arrogance is very few and far between...This is a blog/forum site that is not a classroom so get off you high and mighty rocker old man and understand that ppl are attempting to type fast...I am actually quite capable of properly writing a paragraph....However i did not know this was english class....I probably shouldn't even satisfy your ignorant elitist attitude with a response....However insignificant your recommendation would be to me with this sort of idotic request....Hey jackwad THIS IS NOT A CLASSROOM! was simply asking for advice/recommendations....BTW i went with kagemusha

Which one would you pick and why?

Videodrome
Kuroneko
Harakiri
The Wages Of Fear
Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas
Hunger
Army of Shadows
Diabolique

Thanks for the comments and suggestions everyone, but I'm really not any closer to deciding after reading them.

So wait...the English language is elitist for being comprised of correctly spelled words, and having basic grammatical rules that even an eight-year-old can easily follow?

But using proper spelling and grammar makes you appear less of a troll, you know? Since, you know, people who usually troll ignore it in general.

Besides that, using proper spelling and grammar helps other people better understand your thoughts and feelings. I don't see how it takes any more or less time than not using correct spelling and grammar.

What do u mean by troll....are you refering to the ppl who come into forums to pick fights....I understand that it can help convey your feelings but attempting to quickly type something as i was in a rush....i had made some spelling mistakes....

This is not directly directed torwards u but rather in general....but we are all adults here and if you cannot comprehend or choose not to comprehend what i am say because i fail to use a proper gramatical structure then so be it....However that is just retarded that a simple question cannot or is refused to be answered b/c someone has a hard-on for gramatical structure...That to me is quite snobbish and elitist...For christsake it was a simple question of a recommendation and it turned in to this rubbish of how impromper a question was stated blah...blah use caps....whatever dude this is the way i write in a forum....I am not writing a novel...a paper...I am asking a question which was never answered anyway...
