Let's see how long this takes.
I got my replacement case for The Third Man in about a week or less.

I need cases for Last Year at Marienbad, Last Metro, 400 Blows, and Man Who Fell to Earth.

Does Marienbad have a case yet?

The sleeve case is a terribly tight fit.

Also, there is a discount on the cases now: $5 for the first two, and $2.50 for any additional cases (previously it was $5 for per case no matter what).
Sorry to belabor the point. Just to be 100% clear (as I'm only 94% clear now). These are the plastic replacement cases we've been waiting for correct? not just actual "replacement" digipacks. I'm almost certain that's what you mean, but wanted to make sure.

Yes, these are the clear plastic replacement cases.

only the first 8 were released in digipacks, right?

for those who has both(clear and digipacks) now, what are your plans for the digipack cases?

I only have the Last emperor in digipack and ordered 14mm clear case today for it. I am planning on keeping both cases.

Some Criterion titles have 2 versions of the same titles. The Last Emperor and Brazil just to name a few. I can't remember the timeline for these titles. Were they released at the same time or the single disc edition first then 4 disc editions?

I really want to see the TV cut of The Last Emperor but it didnt make it to the blu-ray release, Will we see a second release for this title with both cuts?

I am planning on making a list of Out Of Print Criterion Titles released in DVD, Laserdisc and Blu-Ray as a wish list to my self for my future purchases. Would anyone else here care for it?

I'd be interested.

Perhaps this will give you a starting point. It has all the rereleases of those titles that came out a few times. (Doesn't mark out of print titles though)

Nine releases were in the digipack packaging... not necessarily the first nine, though, because "Last Year At Marienbad" was released after "The Wages Of Fear," which came in a plastic case.

Well, according to the lastest news, the plastic cases for "Last Year At Marienbad" should be available to order now. It sounds like you must've had one of the first-run printing of that release, as well, because they were very tight and replacement digipacks were made those if you contacted Criterion.

Just go through Criterion's site and you'll see "OOP" under the price for all of the titles that are currently out-of-print on DVD or blu-ray. It should really only take you about 10 minutes to click through 500 titles and note the ones that are OOP, if you so desire.

Or... just go to the Wikipedia page that lists their releases and if they're OOP, or not. I'm not sure if it's 100% correct, but it's a start for you. This stuff isn't rocket science.

As far as those two specific titles are concerned, the multi-disc sets of both "The Last Emperor" and "Brazil" were released before the single-disc releases.

I seriously doubt it... definitely not within the next year or two. Criterion has too much on their plate right now, I'm sure, as far as upcoming releases are concerned.

If you want to be picky the original releases of rereleased titles are OOP as well.

I put in an e-mail earlier today to Jon Mulvaney asking that very question, but I have yet to receive a response. I don't imagine they will, but I thought I'd ask anyway. However, you could always just order one of the other cases and print out a custom cover for "Ben Button" if they don't.

That's what I was thinking of doing.
Except it's a 2-disc release.
