Speaking of Time Bandits I wish Criterion would get the rights back. Its criminal the Bluray release is interlaced.

Its too hard to make a list of my top 10 plus I've never been a fan of lists. In my case some films would be on it just because they were very recent experience's. For instance Pale Flower and The Music Room were both blind buys for me and would probably make that list. Then some are just great films like Algiers, Harakiri that deserve to be there. IMO top Criterion lists are only important if they were tied to a users profile. Allowing me to gauge an opinion of a film posted here by observing that users top Criterion titles...

Here's my current list
[Show spoiler]Phantom Carriage
Night of the Hunter
Last Command
Le Corbeau
Army of Shadows
Kind Hearts and Coronets
Diabolique
Battle of Algiers
The Music Room
Sweet Smell of Success

Nothing from the good ol' days of DVD, and not the one from your Avatar?

I'll have to come up with a list, but I'm bad at lists, so I won't be able to comment on its accuracy

My list in no particular order:

12 Angry Men
Bicycle Thieves
The Third Man
The Wages of Fear
Le Corbeau
Knife in the Water
Repulsion
Fat Girl
Mystery Train
Fanny and Alexander

Maybe I'm surprised Battle of Algiers didn't get more love. I think it's one of the best packages Criterion has ever released.
Great minds think alike. I voted for it for best upgrade.

I thought there would be more love for BofA, Jean Vigo, Pale Flower, and Solaris in the different categories where they were elegible. Maybe there is something to this "English language conspiracy" thing *dramatic music*

What's everybody's least favorite film Criterion has released?

I haven't seen a whole bunch, but I think my least favorite was Noah Baumbach's Kicking and Screaming. Just a very dull, boring film...and I'm a recent college grad/drop out and can relate to the story. I still find it boring.

It's been getting really tough to keep pace with these releases. Plus, I love to re-watch films so I make time for repeat viewings, too.

Berlin Alexanderplatz
L'Atalante
Japanese Summer: Double Suicide
Tout va Bien
The Night of the Hunter

A bunch of filmmakers (Eisenstein, Sirk, Carne, Pasolini) I want to add, but my favs are not released by Criterion.

Nice to see someone else mention When a Woman Ascends the Stairs. Man, Hideko Takamine is so beautiful in that film.

That's why I don't make lists

EDIT:

and push comes to shove, I bet "Bigger than Life" would knock a couple off my list too.

The Grand Illusion (I know it's OOP, but its still great)
Bicycle Thieves
Roberto Rossellini War Trilogy
Bob le flambeur & Le Samourai (either one is fantastic)
Shoot the Piano Player
Elevator to the Gallows
L’avventura
Vampyr
M. Hulot’s Holiday
and many, many, more....

Top 10 is very difficult.

The blu-rays I've spun the most have been The Red Shoes, Last Year at Marienbad, Wages of Fear, Night of the Hunter, Breathless, Mystery Train. There should be more but I just haven't gotten around to more viewings on others.

Oh and Hiroshima Mon Amour. I've viewed that DVD several times and it has survived my DVD purges. I'll hang onto it until they announce the upgrade (Please, Criterion, while Resnais is still alive).
