Not HAPPY at all with the March Releases. It is great to get Days of Heaven and all but they are releasing two great titles on DVD! and not on BD! Esp Bigger than Life!

I feel like they were really on top of releases from the previous month releases with DVD and BD releases but this is nuts.

I will buy Days of Heaven but I am not giving them more money for more DVD releases like those.

****UPDATE I jumped the Gun as usual... a BD for Bigger than Life was announced also. :-)

They've updated the system and Bigger Than Life is indeed coming on BD as well.

Notice that none of the release info talks about the uncompressed or DTS-HD MA soundtracks, either. I think we have to wait a bit to get all the concrete info on the March slate.

Slow down there hoss, give em a chance to finish updating the site and actually announce stuff. Turns out Bigger Than Life IS getting a BD release.

I still wish we got more day and date BDs... but bigger than life deserves a BD

Crap, and all the releases are on the 23rd, as well. I kinda wish Criterion could spread out a release for each week, ya know? That way, my wallet wouldn't hurt as much, plus I'd have something to look forward to each week.

To be honest, I can't pre-order Criterion titles anymore after those excellent B&N and Amazon sales...I'll just wait for another one and do a mass buy of what I'm behind on.

Since I've been championing it, though, Revanche is an exception.

Yes, IMO.

Yojimbo is arguably more influential than Seven Samurai and Days of Heaven is just something any film lover should own.

Criterion Starts BD Case Replacement Program

I'm sure this is buried somewhere in the thread here but are cases for all titles now available? Specifically for Bottle Rocket. Is everyone happy with these new cases?

Yes, the latest answer is a couple of pages back now. All cases are available, but Criterion was already out of stock at the moment. Payments can be made, and I assume will be sent out when available.

I'm with you. Not that I'm big on pre-ordering things at all honestly, but I know that even when these newer Criterion titles are released I will likely wait patiently for the next big B&N sale to pick up those that I want. Plus the cheaper price makes it way more likely that I'll get some titles I may not have before. Definitely making a list already with all the January through March titles for that eventual next sale.

Who knows, maybe I'll even actually get to watch the couple I bought in the last sale before the next one. Nice to have goals.
