A Night to Remember was a great book, and I am looking forward to seeing how much more accurate this story can be with out love taking over, or that stupid blue diamond.
Yeah, in my opinion, it's the best book about the Titanic. I used to be a Titanic nut when I was a kid, before the Cameron film came out (which I think is pretty good). I also have the book that Lynch wrote and Marshall illustrated, and it's very nice.

So did he make you read A Night to Remember in the swimming pool.....one set of floaties per three students?

[Show spoiler]Just be glad he did not make you read Dante's Inferno

We did a section on the Titanic in grade 8 English, and had to read the book, and pick any name from the survivors' list (other than the "famous" names, and do a character sketch (a literal drawing)/personal history of them, and what happened to them to have the sail on the Titanic and what happened afterwards. I did enjoy the book. I'll need to see the film first though.

Oh, don't stop there, and when you get through with Rush, etc., then I'll start apologising for my country's crap pop artists...uh, nevermind. We All have our problems.

I find myself doing that more and more with non-Criterions. (Although I just about always at least check out the deleted scenes.)

But still go through all of the Criterion video supplements, and listen to just about all of the audio supplements as well (although usually I pass on the radio re-enactments), and read all of the booklets.

Commentaries about 98% of the time I don't even bother to see what's available, once in a while I might sample one, and I've probably listened to at most a handful all the way through (Criterion and non-Criterion). Sometimes I wish I had more time and/or inclination to check out some others, but just don't.

Celine & Nickleback are ok, it's for Justin Beaver that we need to apologize to the entire planet

OH NO... I did not know he was from Canada too. Thankfully Vanilla Ice was not from your vast lands, or we would definitely have to close the borders..

Considering I sold mine on Ebay for around $125 many years ago, I'd say $15 is a steal.

The blu-ray is still the best presentation, but some of Criterion's extras are cool.

Mine might show up by Saturday if online tracking is any indication. (I ordered them each separately, and they shipped on Tuesday from not all that far away.) Pretty slow, but it is that time of the year. Hopefully USPS tracking hasn't failed this time around and they haven't just been sitting in the mailbox since yesterday. Have yet to get the wrong item sent to me by those guys, but I suppose it is bound to happen one of these days.

Last night I watched 12 Angry Men for the first time and loved it! 10/10. Also don't know if this has been mention before, but I noticed on the cover all the jurors are pictured in order of their jury number 1-2-3, and so on...until you get to the last two, Criterion has reversed jurors 11 and 12, its no big deal, just a bit strange.

The Criterion DVD of This Is Spinal Tap for $15 is an excellent deal IMO.

I paid $40.00 for a used copy on Amazon in April of this year.

Snap it while it's still available!

IMDB and Wiki both list George Voskovec and Robert Webber as jurors 11 and 12 which is their order on the cover. (Not that I can look at a sketch of Voskovec and think 'oh yeah, that's George all right, I'd know him anywhere'. Robert Webber is pretty recognizable though).

Neil Young barely (and just barely at that) trumps Rush.

He can't lay a glove on Shatner.

Shatner is the man, that's for sure.

What about Canadian (characters) Bob and Doug McKenzie? "I really gotta pee, eh."
