I sent a PayPal payment for the replacement cases over the past weekend. Am I supposed to get a confirmation from CC directly confirming this and a shipment?

I believe you just have to wait..... and if you think you've waited too long.... just email them.

It's just the case, so there shouldn't be much rush..... just watch the films in the meantime

Is Image being on the verge of bankruptcy going to affect Criterion?
look at article here involving distribution agreement--
http://www.highbeam.com/doc/1P1-145909996.html
anybody have any futher details about this agreement that supposedly goes through 2013?
this could be very bad news for criterion if they have to scramble to get new distribution.
see original blu-ray.com posting about Image problems here--

Yes, what Beta said above. I also responded to this same question back on page 210, if you care to look.

I was paging through my blu's last night and realize I need a case for the Third Man. Do they make a good one to replace the paper one? How do I go about getting it?

No sure about that but we might see a "Matinee" (1993) on Criterion then?

Are the replacement cases shrink-wrapped by any chance? Shipped in a box maybe?

(Just tired of receiving damaged merchandise. Like to know what to expect.)

My Third Man case came unshrinkwrapped and in a padded bubble envelope. But it was 100% fine. It's an empty plastic case, there's not really much to damage... I mean short of someone stepping on it and crushing the case, but shrinkwrapping wouldn't help that at all.

I ordered the other 8 and am still waiting on those. I figure those might get a box since 8 cases is a lot for an envelope. I'm sure they will arrive in fine condition too.

One shipped case will more than likely arrive in a padded envelope without any shrinkwrap. That's how my case for "The Third Man" arrived.

Third Man, In the Realm of the Senses, Wages of Fear, all ordered and arrived with the plastic cases.....Last Year at Marienbad-in the old cardboard case. At first I didn't agree but I think the cover scheme works really well on cardboard with Marienbad. Though I would like to have them as uniform as they can (who knows how long before they change the spine logo again, not to mention the height difference with the blu cases). But does anyone have a photo of the Marienbad plastic case?

Thanks for your email! I'd be happy to give you some more information on the Blu-ray case replacements!

We are offering replacement cases for the following titles:

THE THIRD MAN
THE LAST EMPEROR
THE MAN WHO FELL TO EARTH
BOTTLE ROCKET
CHUNGKING EXPRESS
THE 400 BLOWS
THE LAST METRO
EL NORTE
LAST YEAR AT MARIENBAD

Please note that we are temporarily out of stock on all cases and expect more to arrive next week. The cost for the replacement cases is $5 per case; this includes the cost of shipping. For multiple cases we offer a discount of $10 for the first two and $2.50 for each additional case beyond that (so, for instance, $12.50 for three cases).

To order the cases, simply make a payment to the email address store@criterion.com through PayPal, providing your mailing address and item(s) needed in the message field, and we'll send out the materials!

I hope this information is helpful! Please let me know if you have any more questions and thank you for supporting Criterion!

Best,
Jon Mulvaney
So, $25 for 8 cases? Is that you guys' interpretation?

Just letting you know that "In The Realm Of The Senses" and "The Wages Of Fear" have always been in the plastic cases.

Case and artwork only with the replacement cases, but if you contact Jon Mulvaney at Criterion and tell him you're missing the booklet, he'll probably throw one in for you.
