Very happy about Nanook coming out. How about we actually release Y Tu Mama this year, hmm?

Has anyone mentioned from the newest Criterion 'hint' pic 'Eating Raoul'? The sign with the mouth and a foot coming out is the old cover & the image next to it looks like a Hispanic male. I just watched this for the millionth time last week. I'd love that one coming

the Sony DVD's aspect ratio for Eating Raoul is stretched, it's OOP now.
another film with eat in the title "Eat The Rich" , a british comedy (stars Lemmy, Nosher Powell and many others)

The only ones I "got" (or that at least I believe I got ) are...

Woman on top of car with "suggestive" pose - Cronenberg's Crash
Mime - Les Enfants du Paradis by Marcel Carne
Threesome - Y Tu Mama Tambien by Alfonso Cuaron (Again )
Three Samurai - Inagaki's Samurai Trilogy
Mouth Poster - Eating Raoul by Paul Barter
Bow - The Bow by Kim-Ki-Duk (Our next South Korean film?)
Oysters - No idea

Yeah, I have 'Eat the Rich', but the person standing close to the sign drew me to 'Eating Raoul'. The motorcycles / scooters with all the mirrors lead me to 'Quadrophenia' which just was released in the UK on BD for the first time last month.

Here's an unsettling thought - I don't see a Spartacus clue in there anywhere.

That obviously doesn't have to mean anything one way or the other but if they were releasing it this year you'd think that would be prime teaser material.

It's Bergman's Summer with Monika I believe.

You are probably right ...

Not that I don't want new Bergman in the Collection, it is just that Cronenberg's Crash would have been incredibly awesome .

Has Criterion teased Eclipse releases through these hints before? If so, the mime next to the Eating Raoul hint might be a sign of the rumored Pierre Etaix Eclipse set.

I am starting to agree that the three samurai are not a hint for Three Outlaw Samurai, but are in fact a hint for the Samurai Trilogy. Look at his weapon, and compare it to this image:

Here's a weird stream of consciousness. The honking and beeping made me think Traffic which in turn made me think traffic jam which in turn made me think of a montage toward the end of a film - a series of quick shots of a crowded, noisy city (New York, probably) - traffic, pedestrians, traffic, pedestrians, then total quiet - that I couldn't quite nail down.

I think it's the end of Fail-Safe though. Which is completely unlikely but how cool would that be?

(does anybody remember if there's something similar in Blast of Silence because that kept running through my head too)

Was a lance/spear also a fairly notable image in one of them? I can't remember why but the middle samurai in particular reminds me of the trilogy.

I would kill for Fail-Safe. Fonda and Lumet? Beautiful.

Also, so few upgrades hinted. I'm disappointed, as expressed by this emoticon:
I kind of agree. Although if that charm does turn out to have tannis root in it all will be forgiven and then some.

Could possibly be Through a Glass Darkly. I'd be thrilled with the entire 'Faith' trilogy!

Yeah, looking at it again it's increasingly unlikely that the mime = Les enfants du paradis. But it's still due for an upgrade - it was recently restored I believe.

I officially think the bow means Pasolini's Trilogy of Life (Arabian Nights).
