Someone else said they had emailed him directly, so I did the same and received a reply.
When someone mentioned the other day that they had received a replacement disc, I decided to email again. He took three days to reply and that's the reply that I've posted here.
So, directly emailing him is the way to go.
I do think it's strange they haven't chosen to send out an email to everyone that's signed up for their newsletter.

Amazon is down to 20 copies of Pierrot Le Fou. Best hop on it if you don't own it already.

It could be their last batch.

Agreed. B&N claim to still have it in stock as well, but it's 39.99. You can do the buy 2, get the 3rd free deal on it, which is what I did back in July, to get about 10 bucks off of it, depending on what you buy. It was my "free" BD actually in that deal.

They both star Yujiro Ishihara, who was considered a huge star at the time (he's also in Kurahara's I Hate But Love, which is in the The Warped World of Koreyoshi Kurahara box-set).
I've never seen Youth of the Beast, but I'm tempted... looks great.
It's not that Suzuki's films don't have plots, but rather that the plot is the departure point for formal and stylistic experiments.
Btw, Jim Jarmusch's Ghost Dog is heavily influenced by Branded to Kill, even copying directly one of the assassinations.
I highly recommend Youth of the Beast. This might be a bad comparison but to me it was kind of like a mix between The Bad Sleep Well and Yojimbo (plot wise atleast) but with Suzuki style, if that makes sense. I will check out I Am Waiting, never seen a Kurahara film before. What are some other Eclipse sets that are good?

May I ask what you included in your email? I want to know what to include exactly, because my emails to them have never been answered.

They must have printed a boatload of those when they found out they were losing the rights. It seems like it's been out of print but available forever.

Not quite sure on the issue with the white disc as I don't own it, but on disc two of Carlos (episode 3) there is an issue with the front left speaker not playing properly (at a very low volume). I couldn't even discern the sound issue, but then again, I don't have a very expensive sound system and I typically don't play movies too loud as I live in an apartment, so I may not be the expert on this.

It's the left surround that's muted, not the left front

I would too considering they announced a blu-ray not even a year before it was announced OOP. So they prob didn't want another Contempt/Ran on their hands.

I have the Criterion DVD of that one, wish they would upgrade it to BLU though.

I thought I'd post a review I've recently written for a film in the Criterion Collection. Perhaps I can convince a couple of people here to buy into this film:

PARIS, TEXAS REVIEW

Some feedback would be appreciated.

Criterion's Facebook page just posted the trailer for Wes Andersons new film "Moonrise Kingdom". Maybe they have already struck a deal for DVD/Blu release

Are you saying Criterion will blindly pick up a film? I am shocked.
