You would think so, but until all 64 titles in my spreadsheet are highlighted and checked-off as 'watched' I will not be able to rest easy.

That's the problem, rkish. I haven't seen the other four films, so I can't tell you anything about them. From what I've read over time, though, most people don't consider them to be "classic" Bergman films, which is how this upcoming AE release is titled.

Douche?? I know someone from my own city was not directing this at me.... Unless he is from the south side, then it's understandable...

The ending fight scene in The Sword of Doom has to be one of the best if not the best samurai fight sequence ever filmed. It's just that incredible.

No doubt it inspired the tea house scene in Kill Bill.

Can any kind folks recommend a nice region free blu-ray player?

These MOC/Eureka/BFI releases are mouth-watering.

My LG BD550 hasn't failed me yet. Such an incredible player. Bought it for the very reasons you want to buy a region-free player. Not sure if they're available now, but just research.

I've held out pretty long without having to mess with a region free player. These recent MoC announcements are forcing me to find one as well.

Their releases are just amazing. All the announcements made recently are must-owns.

So many models so many firmware hacks. I think I may have to go the hardware hack route.

It's quite an incredible restoration! I was able to get it for reviewing and it blew me away. There's also a wonderful featurette detailing all of the extensive work that went into the restoration. Truly impressive.

Some work with a simple remote code out of the box, most require you load on older firmware on first (it depends on when the unit you purchase was manufactured). Sounds a bit complicated but it's really not. I've had mine for about 5 months and it has been great. I will probably buy another soon as insurance, as I don't expect it to operate forever.
I picked up a DVD4 as a floor model early last year and it works great. Much easier to use than the LG BH200 I used to have. I also have an OPPO 83, but the hardware mod did not appeal to me. The Insignia is definitely worth looking into if your local store has one.

I understand completely. I only go there if I'm really hard up, or, they have a cheap-ass region free BD player.

No, it was directly squarely at me. I placed a Eureka order Saturday afternoon at which point I went into full little kid 'are we there yet' mode.

Amazon.uk just made it worse, too. An order they shipped Monday (Sherlock S1&2, Picnic at Hanging Rock, Hidden) just showed up. That's pretty amazing, actually. Our Amazon doesn't get here that fast anymore.

As to that last part let me put it this way...

I cringe when people say 'The Cell', I still put the phantom N in Comiskey and I was one of the people who cheered the cops when they (finally) cleared the field at Disco Demolition.

So this one will do it?

It sounds like it's not region free out of the box?

None of them will state region free, The older firmwares can be made region free through a keycode on the remote and you can downgrade the firmware on models as well. You can find everything you need to know here:
