Here is the rumored list:

Koreny ceske nove vlny / Roots of Czech New Wave, containing:
- O necem jinem / Something Different
- Transport z raje / Transport from Paradise
- Demanty noci / Diamonds of the Night
- Krik / The Cry
- Kazdy den odvahu / Courage for Every Day

Dozvuky ceske nove vlny / Echos of Czech New Wave
- Vsichni dobri rodaci / All My Good Countrymen
- Spalovac mrtvol / The Cremator
- Ucho / The Ear
- Valerie a tyden divu / Valerie and Her Week of Wonders
Thanks for posting this, SpiderBaby. I am looking forward to getting the Pearls release in a few months and experiencing these films. And I completely understand your view that many of these films outshine a lot of the main line releases that got better treatment. I feel the same way about many of the Eclipse films I have watched in the past couple of months.

I'm sure you can source that in the custom cover thread.

20 more days until Anatomy of a Murder and World on a Wire come out!

Really can't wait to get AoaM, because Jimmy Stewart is that awesome.

The awesomeness of Preminger bears mentioning there, as well. And Duke Ellington. Not to mention George C. Scott, Lee Remick, and Ben Gazzara. Anatomy of a Murder is a highly anticipated upgrade for me, and a very welcome addition to the Collection.

The fact that I locked both of these releases in at $16.99 is pretty badass, as well.

Not sure why they put so much onto one disc. There's over an hour of extras in 1080p, so they really should've used a second disc.
Otherwise, looking forward to this one.

I'm not disagreeing with you there, as all those things are awesome too. I just chose to point out Jimmy because he doesn't play a typical Jimmy Stewart role in this. He's a bit sleazy actually. He and Henry Fonda are two of my favoutie actors (and were roommates and pals no less), and both had the rep of playing "nice guys." Anatomy of a Murder, and Once Upon a Time in the West kinda shatter those illusions, which I love. Anatomy of a Murder isn't a shattering as Once Upon a Time in the West, nor as much as Gregory Peck playing Dr. Joseph Mengele in The Boys From Brazil, or Burl Ives playing Rufus Hannassey in The Big Country, but it's still pretty fascinating to watch if you expect Jimmy Stewart to play an hnourable, loveable, schmuck.

Does anyone happen to know if I was to buy "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button" from the actual Criterion Store, if I would still get the Slipcover??????

For whatever reason, I never knew it came with a Slip, or with a Fincher Signature Sticker... And now that I do know, I've become completely obsessed with the need to have it.

I'm going to check with my local Barnes and Nobles just incase to see if they still have any with the Slipcover, but I know it's probably only a formality to knowing that they don't...

July sale for me. I'm aware I'll pay more for it, and was totally tempted to get the 16.99 deal, but I'm on a strict 2 BDs a month limit until the next sale. Hugo doesn't count for February, because it comes out so close to March, and they initially couldn't decide when it was going to come out. Thus, Lady and the Tramp & AoaM are my February purchases, Hugo and The Muppets are for March (I'll get Holmes too, but it will be as a gift from someone, Three Musketeers and Tintin may have to wait, and might be cheaper), and finally, Harold and Maude and The Organiser for April. I'll have to see what's going on for May before I decide what two BDs I'm buying for that month. I may bump it up to 3 BDs a month, once I get my car insurance and vehicle registration renewed in April. At least the safety's good on it for another 2 years.

What is it then? An American Tail: Fievel Goes West? I admit I liked the sequel to an American Tail more, but it's really not Jimmy's best film.

I was just joking. Some folks will tell you they like a movie but will make it a point that you know it is not their favorite from a certain director.

For example: "Breathless is quite good. Although, it's certainly not Godard's best film. Personally, I prefer Alphaville." :: puts on beret ::

Out of the film's I've seen (and there are many many more I need to see with Stewart because he did so many)-- my favorites are VERTIGO and MR.SMITH GOES TO WASHINGTON.

So are 'some folks' "wrong" for not liking second tier quality as much as masterpieces?

It's actually a fun game...there is even an iPad/iPod app that you can download (it might even be free) and you can play between two Apple devices.

I let my son watch the very beginning of the film, to let him watch them play the game...but no more than that!

Excellent-thank you very much! I've got something to read on my lunch hour now.

No, it's just annoying that they have to make it a point to clarify. They can't enjoy the film without comparing it to another.

As was I, hence the American Tail movie. It's actually pretty decent for a kid's film, because you have Jimmy, John Cleese, and Dom DeLuise

Not wrong, but Anatomy of a Murder isn't a "second tier quality" film IMHO. Also, what one may judge to be "second tier" might be first tier for one, or 100th tier for another. It's subjective. It's when you come in and say something sucks, and/or it's not as good as X, and don't back up your reasons, or base them off of word of mouth (I have never seen Citizen Kane, but those clips I saw and/or from what my friend said, it's low quality/inferior to A Safe Place) without having seen the film, that's the issue.

Also, as already pointed out, why compare two vastly different movies to each other because they have the same director/actor etc? I'm guilt of doing it myself, but I still try to back up my reasons why something is better.

Jimmy Stewart and Duke Ellington in the same film? Yeah, no way it's second tier.

Yep. And A Safe Place is in no way, shape, or form a "first tier" film. I used it as an extreme example. You honestly can't compare Citizen Kane to A Safe Place. Both have Orson Welles, but that's about it. Even if I did like it, the style of both films are completely different. I think A Safe Place is the worst film to be added to the Criterion collection ever.

I readily admit I'm like that with film adaptations of books, although I've made exceptions for some.

You can, but the standard blu-ray case has different dimensions than the custom-sized Criterion blu-ray cases with a thicker spine, so the artwork won't fit as well.
