A theater in L.A. is screening The Seventh Seal followed by a q&a with Max Von Sydow. Ironically, they'll be showing Extremely Close and Incredibly Loud after that. I wonder if anyone will stay for that? I got my tickets so I'm pretty psyched!

Well the BFI are doing a Dreyer retrospective of sorts in March and I believe some titles are newly restored so it's a possibility.

Regarding Dreyer, I'd love to see both The Passion of Joan of Arc and Vampyr upgraded at some point. I've put off buying both on DVD, hoping for a BD release. I don't buy Criterion DVD's anymore, because I'm sure that once I do, the BD upgrade will be announced the following month. haha But I'd love to have these two films on Criterion BD.

Same goes for Christensen's Haxan, which I always associate with Vampyr for some reason.

Sad. Last night I rewatched The Big Lebowski so to hear he died today feels kind of.....I don't know. Maybe a bit sadder than usual when a classic actor passes away.

Damn. He was such a smug bastard in Anatomy of a Murder, and I mean that in a good way. I loved his character in the film.

Glad to see Mystery Incorporated were able to sniff out the screen caps to confirm it's Summer with Monika. As I said before, the Wild Strawberries kids are going to be a wee bit upset, unless we get double Bergman all the way! What can it mean?!

. What has been going as of lately? Many great people working in the medium have been passing away. I don't speak about this in any conspirational way, it is just sad to see such a wave of things. One thing that's for sure, they will be remembered.

That is the movie I usually remember the most about him, he just was not an actor I ever knew or saw much about his work. I remember as a kid seeing The Bridge at Remagen. I also saw in the 70's The Neptune Factor. He was great in The Killing of a Chinese Bookie which I knew nothing about and was introduce to it by Spiderbaby.
