? You just slide it between the plastic?

Seriously? Hmmm? Well, first open the case so that the insert is easily slid out. After that, I can't imagine what could hold you up from changing out movie covers.

Also, note that the cover that reallyagi has made for "Ben Button" is to go inside one of Criterion's custom clear cases, which are a different size than the standard blue-colored blu-ray cases.

Open the case 180 degrees (flat) then the top plastic will be loose. The paper sleeve will slide right out.

Can someone please tell me why someone has made a custom cover for Benjamin Button exactly like the original?

The only difference is that now I'll have ALL my Criterions in clear plastic cases together.

I also think i should do away with the "proof of purchase" part, and just leave a simple barcode like the rest of the Criterions. and the only tweaks I need to do is make sure the color look as close to the original as possible.

Well, it's not "custom," per say. It's a matter of taking Criterion's original cover for "Benjamin Button" that was placed in the typical blue-colored blu-ray cases due to their agreement with Paramount, I'm sure, and simply scanning it in and resizing to make a cover that will fit Criterion's own clear plastic blu-ray cases that have a wider spine.

Actually, there is another possibility. I was just watching on TCM the classic movie, "If I Had A Million," and in it is a section set at the "Idylwood Home for Elderly Ladies" and the artist got the name wrong.

Operation Benjamin Button cover in new plastic case was a complete success.
I'll post some pics tonight.

Question: If I order older Criterion titles like Bottle Rocket from Amazon, is there still a chance I'll get the digipak version, or are they all clear plastic cases now?

I have not seen ANY reports of people getting plastic case versions of any of the digipack movies besides The Third Man. Everyone with plastic cases for the other 8 films has gotten them straight from Criterion as replacement cases. So I'd say it's still very possible to get the digipacks from Amazon. ESPECIALLY for Bottle Rocket, which is the one case Criterion hadn't received yet last time I talked to them - I ordered all the cases, and my whole order has been held up because of Bottle Rocket.

Good to hear! I'll be patiently awaiting your posting of the finalized fully-"tweaked" high-resolution cover.

I just got an email from Criterion concerning the replacement cases program and the following information could be revelant to canadian users so here it is :

"
Canada is considered domestic, so you may make a payment of $5 per case. For multiple cases we offer a discount of $10 for the first two and $2.50 for each additional case beyond that (so, for instance, $12.50 for three cases).
"

I'm really happy to know that because otherwise I would never have been able to afford the cases with the International price.

Those were never digipaks. They were always clear cases.

Those were only released in the new style plastic cases from the start.

I just wish they'd get their replacement case stock back in so they can ship them out to us.

I am only talking about the films that were originally digipacks, and now are being switched to plastic cases. Of those 9 films, the only one people have reported buying new in a plastic case is The Third Man.

The two films you listed were always plastic case ones, they never had digipack versions. So they do not apply to this discussion.

I just got an email from orders@criterion.com that all eight of the cases I ordered (minus the third man which I ordered when they were first ordered) have just been shipped out including bottle rocket which they apparently just received prior to the holidays.
