You're not the only one. I'll try again later this afternoon or sometime after midnight, when their servers can catch a breath. Sale's good until midday tomorrow (I think), which gives me time to put together a want list.

I got an email from them this morning, but automatically deleted it on my iPhone when I was half asleep. Maybe I got the $10?! All I know is, the site is down for me too. Bummer, I hope they have some stuff still left in stock by the time it gets up and running again!

Lucky you who were able to get it off store price...but I just didn't want to wait while the website croaked along. I thought I was being smart by waiting until I came in to work after 1p (ET) to get my items - nope, met sundry times by that 'unavailable to load' screen.

Anyway after intrepid steadfastness I was able to check out with Black Narcissus, The Golden Age of Television [probably the last non-OOP/Eclipse Criterion DVD I'll pick up], and replacement cases for The 400 Blows and The Last Metro - all for $45 thanks to that lovely MyWishlist credit.

It won't ship 'til later in the month because The 400 Blows case is on backorder, but that's fine - this has been quite a heavy traffic month movie-wise.

I had gotten World on a Wire and Anatomy of a Murder for $16.99 through Amazon (when the pre-order glitch was up), so I went with these:

The Killing (I love Kubrick, so this was a must)
12 Angry Men (One of my 10 ten favorite films)
Godzilla (Does this need explaining?)
Three Outlaw Samurai (I am a sucker for samurai flicks)
Three Colors Trilogy (The B&N by me didn't have it during the sale, looks really interesting)

Total $114.85

Indeed. The funny thing was, I didn't see the prices until after they were in my cart. At that point it was hard to pass up.

The glitch at the beginning was nice. I pre-order 9 titles worked out well for me.

It will propably get better in the next few hours. Also it seem some people are giving up trying when you check the sale thread.

Frankly it's a bit embarassing for Criterion, if your site cannot handle such traffic you should not make these type of sales.
