+1 (Been ages since I've been in here).

And all I freaking want is the David Lean Directs Noel Coward box and that's a March release, so it's a good thing that I have no money right now.

Heh... I'd forgotten about that. I use to check their website constantly on the 15th of each month. But in recent months I'm too busy at work to check until late in the day. It's not like it even takes some massive team to run a website. One or two skilled computer people should be able to maintain their website I'd imagine.

Don't know that it has any bearing at all regarding a Criterion release, but a UK company (Second Run) is releasing Les enfants du paradis on May 7.

Dear childish fan, please realize where Criterion came from, and how much not like Warner Brothers or Sony Pictures they are when it comes to funding for big release parties and fabulous sales and giving every single customer everything they have ever wanted or could have hoped for.

Maybe everybody and their mother should just calm the f down and be patient, no matter how long it takes.

Rant over.

I just saw this about a month ago and absolutely loved it!! I remember, as a teenager, I had a Glengarry sound board with all the quotable lines from Pacino, Baldwin, Spacey, etc. Pacino has the best lines, though.

"Let me buy you a pack of gum. I'll show you how to chew it."

"OHHHH WHAT A BIG MAN YOU ARE!!!"

It wasn't all that bad for me on the Criterion site, I got through somewhat quickly and got 3 Blu-Rays:

Blow Out
The Darjeeling Limited
Something Wild

With the Chinatown and Double Indemnity announcements Rosemary's Baby and Glengarry Glen Ross are the only holdouts from my original wishlist.

With this being Paramount's 100th I've got high hopes for RB fairly soon but I have a feeling GGR will have to wait for a 20th Anniversary edition next year.

And as great an addition as GGR would make I wonder if Criterion's directorcentric approach might work against it a bit. Mamet is a great fit but he 'only' wrote GGR. It's too bad, too. As much as I'd like to see something like House of Games or The Spanish Prisoner I would love to see GGR get a spine.

Oh, and speaking of Rosemary's Baby, I'm going to predict it will be announced tomorrow...just to annoy EricJ

Plenty of what I wanted is OOS now (Branded to Kill, Tokyo Drifter, Stagecoach, Seven Samurai), but now I have Breathless and The 400 Blows. I'm thinking of Berlin Alexanderplatz, but I'm afraid of a blu-ray in the future. Is that at all likely?

Others I'm thinking of include:
The Wages of Fear
Kiss Me Deadly
Solaris
The Leopard
Senso
The Sweet Smell of Success
Island of Lost Souls
If...

Don't know. Anyone can recommend, or offer any advice?

I was able to get my order in at like 12:30 between classes, it took an endless amount of error messages but it finally got done.

Breathless
Videodrome
Rushmore

I wasn't aware of the coming sale and picked up Last Year at Marienbad at B&N Sunday. I'd been wanting to re visit it and I feel stupid requesting a movie from netflix more than once. Wanted to pick up Design for Living, but I would also like to eat next week so...

If you really want to annoy EricJ, just say Criterion is adding The Muppets to the collection, and mention the sequel of The Muppets that was announced.

I kinda want Fail-Safe to be announced today, MOAR Lumet and Fonda, MOAR!

Also, are we done with people whining about the sale, Criterion's site, and having all these new people coming in going on about all the films they bought, never to return to even discuss them once the sale is over?

It's a shame Criterion does not offer international shipping.

Not to mention MOAR Matthau.

Which is never a bad thing.
