Well, considering I was talking about several different posters in this thread, and you're the one who keeps responding as if I mean you, and you alone, yes, you are acting defensive.

I would have said the same thing to anyone else, but you seem to think I'm personally attacking you.

How many more hours until the announcements?

That was Amazon.ca $50 from sellers (well $48). With Amazon.com its $36 plus shipping and charges come to $48.79. What to do?

For those interested in the upcoming World on a Wire release, Sam Smith posted a bunch of packaging photos on his blog (he designed the packaging):

I'd lean more towards amazon.com, only because I'm leery of marketplace sellers.

Done! I went with Amazon.com. I have place orders before with sellers but I did not really know any of the one offering this set so price for price I went with Amazon.com

But we've had these little ethical arguments before, italy, and you and I will definitely never see eye-to-eye in that regard. Not a judgment, just an observation. They seem to have certainly earned your loyalty and I'm pleased for you.
I think word of mouth took care of the need to publicly announce it. They probably have their own reasons. One could be cost. It is one thing to offer customers a GC for a set amount, but another entirely to have to deal with everybody's replacement disc and the cost to ship them out. Like I said, they are not as big as a major Hollywood studio.

So they did the next best thing. Addressed the concerns with those who inquired, and offered some form of compensation for their troubles. Word of mouth has spread, and more people have written. This, perhaps, works in Criterion's favor as they are not getting 50 million discs one week. They are, I am assuming, that they are spaced out and can be handles by a company without the resources as a major Hollywood studio.

Does this mean that Criterion are breaking any ethical or moral code? Nope. Just working with what they got. To some who will never understand, it is simply not enough.

I've never seen anything done by Criterion as underhanded or immoral. They're a company that makes money like everyone else. Just a lot less.

Excellent! I hope you enjoy the set, as it now has my interest peaked. I'll see if I can hunt these down to watch before I buy.

Pat, You will be happy with that pickup and it looks like the buzz is that we will get The Gold Rush finally.

Announcement postponed until tomorrow. From FB: "Our top priority today is taking care of our customers in the wake of the sale. We're going to be announcing our May release slate tomorrow afternoon."

ugh. Theres a good Region Free edition that has been out for more than a year (and is very cheap), waste of a title.

though I guess the same can be said for Y Tu Mama Tambien. Too bad the region free blu has crappy supplements.
