No, the warning is always there. I can't blame them. I mean per the law the titles they release should not be available for Quebec because the track is never in French, I mean to be fair the track is hardly ever in English anyway since they release so many foreign movies. As such they will not prevent anyone from ordering since in reality its mostly say 'SOLD IN QUEBEC" and if I purchase it on Amazon.ca or another place it's really not sold in Quebec and as such they don,t care. The law also does not say the goverment can come into you house and retrieve English movie from you. Each person is free to do as he please in his own house. Like I said mostly applied for theater releases. Most places will put the warning but they will ship it anyway. Even the sold in Quebec is pretty much overlook as stores will sell them anyway. The only time they might be remove is when they get the visit of a zealous goverment agent (my friend work at Toys R Us for many years) and he knew which agent was going to be a pain and the others would just look, smile and go away. Stores caught with "English track only" movies are simply ask to remove them and ship them back to other stores in the rest of Canada, they never receive any penalities. It's a weird law that the Partie Quebecois promise they would put in place if elected and they did and for which no one ever really pay much attention.

![]() But in any case, anyone from Montreal or the rest of Quebec, if you ever see any warning that a Criterion is not available in Quebec do not worry and order it, you will receive it. I speak from experience on this one. Last edited by P@t_Mtl; 02-17-2012 at 02:09 PM. |

![]() There are a few other "interesting" places in NS, such as down in the Annapolis Valley with the Golers. Nasty lot there. ![]() |

All of the Chaplin lovers might find this interesting!
http://now.msn.com/now/0217-chaplin-fbi-files.aspx Declassified documents show FBI, MI5 spied on Chaplin 21 mins ago According to declassified documents quoted in The Guardian, the FBI had a 2,000-page file on Charlie Chaplin and reached out across the pond for help spying on him. In 1952, J. Edgar Hoover contacted the UK's MI5 security agency because he was concerned that Chaplin was a Communist sympathizer; meanwhile, the Brits wondered if the actor was actually - quelle horreur! - French. The MI5 eventually concluded that Chaplin was "not a security risk" but, oddly enough, couldn't find proof of his birth in England or France. Regardless, Chaplin was banned from re-entering the U.S in 1953. Wait, we booted Charlie, but we're OK with Snooki staying here? Last edited by The Bronx Bull; 02-17-2012 at 03:18 PM. |

Also, the FBI kept files on everyone, and kept updating them long after they died:
