I really want to get that Mizoguchi Collection Pat! I'm waiting to see if it drops in price a bit first...

The US site doesn't have the pre-order up yet for some odd reason. I'm still waiting for them to add the June pre-orders for Criterion too. They're also having a mini-sale of sorts, as a bunch of titles are down in the 20-24 dollar range.
Should be an excellent release. I've been close to biting on the Canadian AHDN release but have read the transfer leaves much to be desired. Although, the audio seems to be quite good.

I suppose Criterion landing any Beatles property would be incredibly difficult but it would sell like hot cakes with the "C" on it.

I sure will Spidey...probably won't get to it until this weekend. I did crack it open and I have my first official gripe for Kino-Lorber. They used "green" packaging for this (2) BD set and there are those hideous holes behind each disc...I'm already looking for a similar case to swap it out with. Not a happy camper

Yellow Submarine on blu has been showing up and disappearing on the US Amazon site. Same price as the Canadian...is there a separate US release on the same date and what's with this disappearing and reappearing act?

I haven't jumped on AHDN either, even though it's like 9 bucks at Wally World, and they have tons of stock. I remember paying close to 30 for the 2-disc DVD edition Miramax put out, in the horrible cardboard packaging that's crushed and beat up from all the moving I did.

Yellow Submarine's actually my favourite out of all of the films. I also own the "ghetto" copy of MMT, because it looks like someone made a bootleg out of their basement, the cover and such are really bad quality, yet I bought it from amazon.ca and not a marketplace seller.

I've notice that the US site is having issues getting the film up, because I was going to order it and grab one of my Criterion wishlist titles, as they're much cheaper than on the Canadian site. I ended up grabbing 3 book pre-orders for May instead. I just wish the bloody June pre-orders would show up already. I love being able to pre-order Criterions.

Price is not so bad 35 pounds for four movies, it's about 9 pounds per movie.

I know Pat...it's really not that bad a price...it's always harder for me to justify UK purchases, unless they are "gimmees", like BFI Ozus and MoC films. I just got Letter Never Sent and the new Kino Keaton set already this week.

I'll weaken at some point...

EDIT: I'm also trying to save for the next wave of MoC BDs...at least one of the two Mizos that they are releasing...

Mea Culpa. P@t_Mtl, BohemianGraham, rkish, ShellOilJunior, Spiderbaby, & CCfixx are all my sockpuppets. Doc says I have to separate them all out before I can truly integrate.

WTS? I think you'd be the most likely culprit, as half the time I have no idea what the hell you're saying.

Are you sure it's not you who's my sockpuppet, along with the others? If I'm a sockpuppet, I must be your equivalent of Norman Bate's mother, since I'm the only girl who posts here regularly.

Yeah Pat...very disappointed in the BD case. There is a nice "slipbox" as per the last releases, but the swiss cheese case is a major disappointment.

BTW...these are "holes" and not "thinner plastic areas" like some green cases reflect...

My reasoning exactly...I'd rather put off the Mizo set to get this for now...

an online identity used for purposes of deception. The term—a reference to the manipulation of a simple hand puppet made from a sock—originally referred to a false identity assumed by a member of an internet community who spoke to, or about himself while pretending to be another person.[1] The term now includes other uses of misleading online identities, such as those created to praise, defend or support a third party or organization.[2] A significant difference between the use of a pseudonym[3] and the creation of a sockpuppet is that the sockpuppet poses as an independent third-party unaffiliated with the puppeteer.
Maybe that's what happened to Joe...

In my mind, that's exactly who you are, and I don't appreciate you airing our dirty laundry for all to see, Mother.
