I have now received all of the replacement cases. Just arrived today. I'll post a pic if I get a chance.

I think whoever announces that they got their cases should also post when they ordered them, so we can get an idea of how the process is progressing.

Good idea. Also, did you order ALL nine cases that were available?

Not blatantly, but the Eclipse series in general implies it. The series is to allow Criterion to release, with no extras and less effort towards restoration, many films that they otherwise would never get around to. Combine that with the statements that every Blu release is the equivalent of another full project - one they are struggling to increase production for in order to satisfy demand - and expecting Blu Eclipse releases anytime soon is very wishful thinking.

I ordered eight of the replacement cases excluding The Third Man because I ordered that as soon as it was available. I placed my order December 4.

So they were out of cases, got a shipment in, sent you yours, then send me an email saying they are out and expecting some in two MORE weeks?

You'd think after running out so many times, they'd stock up and order a lot of replacement cases...
Wow, I guess I just assumed that since they got the shipment in that everyone would be getting cases. I really can not believe they did not order enough for everyone.

Rich ~ No offense taken. I really can not believe they would ship out orders not in order. I had assumed that everyone before me already had the cases & everyone else would be recieving copies soon.

I too purchased on December 4th (which is, I believe, the first day that availability of cases other than The Third Man was posted), and have not received anything either.

I own all of them. I love these lists too. My favorite is actually DVDBeaver's Desert Island list. I loved so many of them on that list at the time, that it motivated me to go out and pick up all of the others that I didn't have. Lists like these have been some of the best resources for me to find great films that I might not have otherwise been aware of. (another reason DVDBeavers was so great was because it pointed out the best discs available for those particular films as well.)

Have all the Criterion titles on the list except Rashomon. I'm waiting for a BD release of that title. I don't have #16, never watched it before.

Plan to purchase the MoC Sunrise #12 if it goes on sale. I will buy #10 Battleship Potemkin when it's released on Blu-ray from Kino. I'll have to pick up "The Searchers" Blu-ray...if I recall, it's one of those $10 titles. I'm so tempted to get #21 Touch of Evil 50th Anniversary but I hoping it comes out on Blu-ray. I purchased #19 "Raging Bull" which is on sale at Amazon right now for $8.99.

From the top 50...Criterion titles I'll need to pick up is the "Andrei Rublev", "La Strada" and "Ugetsu Monogatari". "M" is coming out on Blu-ray, so I look forward to taht. I thought "Persona" was out on Criterion but I guess not...that's one film I'm shocked that it's not out by them.

It's not just a matter of ordering more cases. The cases are custum made, so the supplier is likely falling behind on their manufacturing capabilities. Remember that the Nov/Dec titles saw a 2-3 week delay because of this issue.

It's actually available standalone or in the MGM Bergman set. It'd be nice if Criterion could get the rights to those films and put out another great set like The Trilogy (Through A Glass Darkly, Winter Light, The Silence, and Ingmar Bergman Makes A Movie). I actually purchased that from the Barnes and Noble sale in November and loved everything in it.

I own abut 90% of those titles but that is a "safe" list there IMO.
