Imagine a L'Avventura, La Notte, and L'Eccisse box set. Blu ray release of the year!

I never said it's always the case.

If you only know their twee pop hits, I don't blame you. Did you watch Head? Cause Head is essentially them comitting career suicide. Also, listen to the non-hit songs. Linda Ronstadt wouldn't have had a career if it wasn't for Mike Nesmith BTW, because he wrote the song Different Drum.

Also check out this song written by Micky Dolenz that was censored for about 27 years:

I'd like to see Milli Vanilli singing about kiddies being shot in the head.

Also, there's this:

FRANK ZAPPA WAS A MONKEES FAN.

You do know that Mike Nesmith invented MTV, whether you think that's a good thing or not.

Beatles were also fans of the Monkees. Watch the Anthology, you'll see Mike Nesmith and Phyllis, his wife at the time, in the film clips for A Day in the Life. George Harrison had Peter Tork play banjo on Wonderwall.

Also, Ringo did that Pizza Hut commercial with the Monkees in the mid-1990s.

Do some research, it might surprise you. I mean, you used to think all Criterion fans were hardcore, elitist, snobs, and now you're one of us.

You seem really sceptical of that. I've only ever had a few Criterions with the seal on them, almost all of my Criterions, with the exception of 2-3, regardless as to where I bought them, have come crappily wrapped and/or with no strip.

Frank shows up in Head too! Apparently he asked Micky to become the drummer for The Mothers after the Monkees broke up, but Micky felt that he wasn't good enough.

Also, Mike's son Jason, and Frank's son Ahmet, have done a bunch of producing and songwriting together.

That might be difficult, given that it's a Warner title, and Warner do not like to share their titles with Criterion, from my understanding.

Holy crap I forgot he did. I was too concerned with making out the structure of the film that I forgot the little details.

He's very memorable too!
[Show spoiler]He told Davy that his dancing was "pretty white," and had the talking cow.

Zappa is awesome. I'd love to see 200 Motels on BD courtesy of Criterion, but somehow, I don't think Gail would allow it.

Look: ALL I SAID was that Criterion puts out cool movies for the film buffs (if it's a Columbia film, let's see Sony do a version of Head), and that's why wished they really would do a version of Kindergarten Cop.

Was that so wrong?
I also mentioned Blow-Out in the same sentence, but you don't see BG going off about early 80's Brian DePalma, do you? Sheesh, I even mentioned their Godzilla, you'd think THAT would start some thread drift!

I only had issues with Armageddon. IronWaffle started the whole chain with the Monkees moonwalk, and it just went all downhill from there. I even attempted to change the subject to Frank Zappa and/or The Young Ones, but no one else would bite.
