Pretty hard question to answer, but I'll go with The Music Room.

[QUOTE=CHEЯNOБLY!;6040371]Has anyone else completley lost their previous post searching section of their profile? Everything else is working on my profile, but I can't search my posts, and I have made some new ones since the crash.

I can't search through old posts or in the forum searching bar at the top of the website. I'm glad I'm not the only one. I'm sure it will sort itself out.

Number 3, how long is your list? Considering he has only made about 6 live action films, I would say you mostly like his work then...no need for the list. I like most of them. I love the quirkiness of his films, even if it can get hammy at times. He definitely has is own style, which I appreciate. Out of curiosity, what is the film(s) you can't tolerate?

p.s. I thought Brody had the best performance in the film of the three
My list consists of 3 films. Life Aquatic is número uno, followed by Fantastic Mr. Fox. I'm not a fan of Bottle Rocket, Rushmore, or The Royal Tenenbaums. I just hated the characters in those three, which is why I was surprised that I enjoyed Darjeeling. I guess I liked it because it's seen as a "lesser" Anderson. The ones I dislike seem to be the ones everyone adores.

Saul, get The Music Room. I'm still kicking myself for holding out on it for so long.

Darjeeling Limited is my favorite Wes Anderson film.

Ugh! Hopefully she won't make you watch it back to back with Terms of Endearment. I can't stand either of those films. I guess I fail as a woman.

Simply Wonderful! Three of the main reasons I was impressed by this release:

1.) DTS-HD 5.1 mix: To Die For! I really can't say much more than that. The music really benefits from the mix and that only makes me hope that Apple/The Beatles/whomever gets around to eventually releasing The Beatles catalogue as multi-track mixes on blu-ray.

2.) The colours were heavily over saturated on the DVD. The colour looks a lot more natural on this release...distinct and sharp...but not pushed to over saturation. I saw this in a US theater, the year it came out. This is how I remember seeing it...it looked like a film...as it is supposed to.

3.) What really blew me away is the black levels they achieved. Inky black...and the main character outlines really stand out...I was really impressed.

Enjoy the film my friend. Hang in there Jess...this will be worth the wait!
Like I said, I have plenty to watch. I'm culling my Criterion wish list, and there are several that have been knocked off to 4th tier or lower.

I was surprised by how much I enjoyed it, to be honest. It's made it's way onto my wish list. I may or may not get it in July.

I love Life Aquatic...I didn't at first and it was more "meh", but it really grew on me with repeated viewings. I agree with you on Bottle Rocket, don't care for it, and Rushmore is so-so for me. Maybe because Schwartzman is such a brat in it. The only place I have to disagree with you is Tenenbaums...I think that may be my first place (close call with Life Aquatic). Along with all the wonderfully odd details he put into it, I found the bittersweet nostalgic quality of the film touching. You should give it second chance at some point. Darjeeling would follow up after those on my list.

I haven't seen Mr. Fox or Moonrise Kingdom yet.

Thanks to everyone who replied . I choosed The Music Room but my uncle asked for another option in case he didn't find it and so I said WR: Mysteries of the Organism as second. Can't go wrong with either . Lets see how that turns out.

To add to all the talk about Wes Anderson, I watched MOONRISE KINGDOM last night. My first thought was, this film is very Wes Andersony. To a point where it felt kind of like a self parody. It's almost too cute for its own good. If you don't like Andersons style you'll hate this movie. Me, I like his style so I thought it was great. The film covers every Wes stereotype: Troubled kids, fighting parents, pastel colors, vintage clothing, 60's music etc. I really enjoyed it. I actually think It's one of Anderson's best. I'll buy the Criterion on release day.

Edit: Forgot to mention, the two kids in the movie were great.

It seems like it is getting the best reviews of any of his films so far. So many big "summer" movies this year I think I might wait for the BD release of Moonrise. Tickets prices add up, but then again so do BDs so...

I also thought Wilson, Schwartzman, and Brody worked well together.

Now onto A Night to Remember. Let's see if Darjeeling replaces it on my wish list.
Saw it today too. Very minor note, did you find the 180 degree shot-reverse shots to be jarring? (especially early on)they are almost as distracting as Andresons meticulous mis en scene. Part of me thinks I spent most of my energy absorbing the periphery, who was even in this movie?

Releasing?

In previous sales (hoping one will occur this July as well) all Criterion movies are 50% off including the Eclipse sets. Only exceptions are the pre-orders meaning very likely most of the July releases along with those of August and September.

I would bet that most, if not all, the July releases will be covered by the sale. Doesn't the B2G1 last until July 9th or so? That means the sake should last until close to the end of the month
