This Badlands speculation just won't end. Hate to break it to you but I think it's been pretty much established that Criterion won't be releasing it. But anything's possible I guess.

Does anyone know when we are getting a search engine back? I didn't know Howard Hawk's Gentlemen Prefer Blondes was going to see a blu-ray release until today and didn't know if there was a thread for the Monroe films coming out?

Edit: Nevermind. See that it's up at the very top where the movie search is. Oops. Not working, but nice move though.

Warner does love a good anniversary banner and it does turn 40 next year so maybe a studio release isn't that far away.

Search seems to be working okay for news items and if can find the release you're looking for and check the threads linked at the bottom of the releases page.

I posted insider info on every title Criterion is releasing for the rest of the year plus a list of coupon codes for 90% off all Criterion titles, but apparently this board crashed and my post is lost. Too bad I can't remember what I posted.

I watched the Criterion release of Armageddon yesterday (my other half had never seen it). The extras were quite impressive and a few extra scenes were sprinkled in.

I don't mind. Saving a couple more bucks ain't no big thing. Most of these I'd pay full price for...granted, I wouldn't be getting them as quickly as I currently am. No worries!

I watched The Lady Vanishes for the first time last night. I thought it was outstanding. I really enjoyed it.

Thanks for reminding me..I really need to re-watch it sometime soon!

I guess I'm due a year of bad karma now. Not only did I get the DD sale early before they jacked the prices, but I only just now got these titles from BN, again at the lower price.

I know it's coming, but I don't care. I'll just sit home an watch movies.

As a semi-aside the Lionsgate/StudioCanal La Grande Illusion preorder is $25.56 right now. I'm half-tempted to pick that up with The Gold Rush and Shallow Grave.

This is a bit of a longshot but I'm going to throw Husbands out as a Friday guess.

I was browsing Showtime's OnDemand (Comcast streaming, basically) and saw F for Fake (nothing new there, that's popped up before), Grey Gardens (kind of a suprise) and The Killing of a Chinese Bookie (quite a surprise...I literally did a double-take).

Which got me to thinking that between the Cassavetes buzz (such that it is) surrounding the BFI announcements and the fact that Sony can't farm catalog titles out fast enough if they're ever going to upgrade Husbands now is pretty much the time.

So there you go.

[Show spoiler]actually my first thought was 'cool, wonder if CC will be releasing Chinese Bookie' until I learned it was part of the BFI package...that doesn't rule it out but it makes Husbands the more likely candidate

Belle Du Jour is one of the best releases of the year, imo.
