^Oh very much so. I thought I would love the poster art for it, but that is simple and awesome too. Love it. Can't wait for April now, but I still need to buy Hunger, Bigger than Life, and Dillinger is Dead before I can get my hands on Vivre sa Vie and Fugitive Kind.

With blu-rays, I find myself putting the Criterion's together, in alphabetical order, seperate from the rest of my blu-ray collection. I think it is the different cases they come in, mixing them among the standard blu-ray cases would drive me crazy. Not that I mind the different cases, I actually like them a lot and think they give the Criterion titles a unique look and makes them stand out.

Pretty sure I'd consider keeping the Criterion Blu-Rays in spine number order if it weren't for my Last Year At Marienbad case, which isn't plastic and thus is larger than the plastic cases of all my other Criterion titles. I could get the plastic replacement case for it, but I kind of like the cardboard case, so as of right now I don't feel the need to replace it at all.

I am not BUYING anymore DVD releases from Criterion, Dillinger needed to be HD on BD on the release date.

Every month a film or two gets burned and classified for DVD only release from Criterion, I know some will disagree but my feeling is if you can't release the BD also then delay the release until you can. I hate being teased. I woudl rather have the BD release or nothing.

I agree 100%. But even though I am mad, I am a sucker for these movies and will end up buying the dvds on release day(s), just so I can have them. I kind of went on a rampage when Dillinger wasn't announced on blu, but I have since cooled down about it, even though I want it on blu so bad. Now with Fugitive Kind, I am starting to get mad again.

No offense to the Summer Hours fans or the Ride with the Devil fans, but wouldn't you rather had a Sidney Lumet film with Marlon Brando in it instead? I didn't say the Godard film, because well, Godard>Lumet. But Lumet is the 2nd best director in the month of April's releases.

Also, is it me or is Criterion making some A+ cover art between Feb-April releases?

I agree... Ang is a good director and all, but come on Lumet doesn't get a BD release!

I'd rather have a Lumet film if it was something like Network or 12 Angry Men or Fail-Safe. But as it happens, I'll gladly take Summer Hours and Ride with the Devil over The Fugitive Kind.

Yeah, I like Ang Lee, but come on, Marlon Brando is in the collection now being directed by Lumet, and no BD?

Really? Is Summer Hours that good? Some say The Fugitive Kind has Brando's best acting in his career in it. Brando!

Honestly, Summer Hours will be a blind buy for me, but this assures me that it'll be a worthwhile purchase:

Don't get me wrong, I will end up buying it. But look at it this way. Criterion wants to make money. Why not release a film by a great director with one of the best American actors of all time in it on BD to help out sales?

Hmm. Now it's Kapo buried in a[n Essential Art House] box set. Wish they'd stop doing that. Otherwise, bring 'em on.

Oh, I totally agree. I'm just saying if I had to choose between one or the other, I'd stick with the ones Criterion decided to go with.

Well I'll end up getting the dvd of the Fugitive Kind and Dillinger is Dead anyways, so it seems I will stick with the ones they decided to go with too.

You can buy it on it's own, it's just not part of the collection (Spine #) is what bugs me.

Ride with the Devil is an extended director's cut. That's ok, but I wish they'd include the theatrical version as well.

New, restored high-definition digital transfer, approved by director Sidney Lumet

Sounds like thanks for approving this HD transfer, but sorry Sidney we can't release it in HD. really sad.

I'm sorry, but that's just silly.
You sound just as stuck up/snobby/elite as the anti blu ray posters on the Criterion and Auteurs forums. We all know blu Ray is better, but is DVD quality honestly that horrendous that you will refuse to buy films you already enjoy?
