They air it on Showtime quite frequently if you want to give it a look, or at least they were for a while.

Criterion is great, and I'm all for supporting them, and do not want to deter anyone from buying this. But I imagine this might be one that people will want to try before they buy.
For sure. I'll post some thoughts on the film as soon as I see it.

I'm not asking this to be argumentative, I'm genuinely curious and far too lazy to research it myself...

Were South America, Africa and non-Japan Asia any better represented in their DVD library?

Not true. They released Armageddon, The Rock, Chasing Amy... they've always scattered some bigger titles in with the obscure ones. It's their business model and helps keep them afloat. Not to mention the laserdisc days, where thy released James Bond, Ghostbusters, Halloween, Raging Bull, etc.

Not to mention, the economy is still in decline, so whatever they did 4 years ago or 8 realyl has no relevance on what they are doing now. If that's what they need to do to continue operating, then good for them.

Touché, I'm coming from a Canadian perspective, although the area I'm from, many hold similar stereotypes. I'm supposedly a drunkard who eats nothing but fish while listening to Celtic music.

Buy what you like. Don't buy what you don't like. It is easy.

Zodiac is a film I really enjoyed but it is not coming to Criterion.

Read CaptVeg's post over at CF. CaptVeg does his homework and has excellent credibility on at least 3 different forums.

Me neither paul000. Saw it once theatrically. Pretty much loathed it. Never even considered a revisit on video.

I cannot wait for both Les Enfants du Paradis and Les Visiteurs du Soiré It's much a surprise to see two Marcel Carne in the same month but I am happy about. Saw both of them last year on TFO (in HD) and these two Blu-ray should be wonderful
