You may get your wish. After seeing how some of the Shaw Brothers releases were lost a few weeks ago and FUNimation Entertainment picked them up. The Weinstein's "Dragon Dynasty" line's future seems uncertain:

So, hopefully someone else reputable gets the titles and releases them.

Well only one release is DVD only this month. I should think that in a few months, we might start getting months where all releases will be on Blu Ray as well. I would say every movie will be a Blu Ray release by the end of the year.

It usually means don't hold your breath for a Blu ray, and when it doesn't (Days of Heaven) I have already bought the DVD and will be buying the film again for BD.

besides Criterion is supposed to deliver the best possible product they can, I just feel like they are talkin steps backwards on their end.

Besides I could buy a DVD for Dillinger is Dead to watch it but the whole entire time I will be wanting to see it in HD and I can't enjoy it as much knowing they have the HD transfer and we aren't able to see it.

The long awaited and highly anticipated Chantal Ackerman's Eclipse Series #19 also comes out on Tuesday.

Should be out sometime this year. Apparently they wanted to release it alongside Yojimbo/Sanjuro in March but it still needed more work.

When I preordered Yojimbo and Sanjuro, I did the individual items instead of the double-pack... I'm starting to wonder if I should've gone the other direction, though. Obviously it won't have an impact on the films themselves, I'm just thinking from the perspective of packaging, collection, etc...

What do you guys think, the combo or individuals?

I'd go combo, (and I did actually) just because you get exactly the two individual releases plus the outer slipcover box, and its cheaper... why not?

Oh, gotcha. I figured they might come in one case or something... I don't know, I didn't see much of an explanation.

When it came out on DVD several years ago, I had to get it as a combo. Granted, it's just a slipcover for both DVD's but it all depends. If you were going to get it now, get the combo. If you were going to buy one at a time, then get it individually.

For me, I'm curious if there are newer special features included.

Yeah I got the combo for the DVD reissue a few years back, and the packaging looks the same for the new Blu release. I ordered the combo myself, but a slipcase really isn't that big of deal to me, I did it more because it saved me like $10. (I order straight from Criterion)

According to Criterion's website, both "Yojimbo" and "Sanjuro" contain the same extras as the previous DVD reissues... other than lossless audio, nothing new is to be added.

I hate combo packs. Thats why I hope they release LOTR as individual releases also. And why I held off on the godfather disks. To me you have all your movies lined up then you have some big combo pack that is unnecessarily sticking out like a sore thumb.

Its all personal preference, and criterion usually caters to both tastes when they release combo packs, so another +1 for them

What's the difference if the combo pack is like Yojimbo/Sanjuro where the contents are exactly the same as individual purchases? I plan on buying the combo and promptly throwing the combo pack in the trash and placing the two movies on my shelf individually.

I do that with a lot of combo packs, such as comedy pack Blu-Rays, etc.
