No, you're not the only one. The Matti Bye score was at times a little too jaunty - almost in a polka bar way - that didn't really fit for me buuuuuut the KTL score felt really anachronistic. It was good and appropriately creepy (which the Bye score often wasn't) but it also felt like it would have been at home in the 80s.

It's a shame they stick you with $6 shipping for ONE blu-ray. Media mail costs about $1.50. I'll wait for B&N.

Has Criterion already said the announcements are Monday?

Announcing Rosemary's Baby on Friday, 13th seems like the kind of thing they could have a lot of fun with.

I guess it makes sense if they had some Lynch in the fold they would not let anything leak AT ALL. I'm sure they know how everything has to be lined-up to get a Lynch film in their collection.

Back in the early Criterion DVD days, they were working on Eraserhead and some out of left field rumor about it started proliferating. Lynch thought that someone had leaked info and was very upset about it. It pretty much killed a release for it at that time and Lynch went on to release the large Eraserhead and Short Films box sets.

If Criterion were to release Fantastic Mr. Fox in the next year or two, would be wonderful if they had an assembly cut of the live action footage shot of the film.

It seems like the Lynch-supervised transfer of Eraserhead has been released by a bunch of different studios in a number of different countries, so it makes sense to me that Criterion could get hold of it despite some problems in the past.

Oh well, that means that literally none of the recent UK releases are worth getting based on what I already have. I think I'll hold out for at least a few months to see if this does actually come to fruition.

Default The Third Man replacement case

Hey,

Since it's been a long time that nobody talked about the famous replacement cases...

I'm currently looking for a replacement case + sleeve for The Third Man to replace the cardboard packaging.

I know Criterion doesn't have any left since it's been out of print for a while now.

Does anyone here have an extra that they would like to give away... or sell ? Thanks.

Meaning, for me! This will be the second BD I pre-order this year. Hard to believe Altman is so under-represented on blu.

I don't know what the precedent of all this is, but do all titles on Criterion's Hulu page get a Blu-ray release? If so, that would be great. Lynch deserves to be in the collection, and The Vanishing deserves a BD release.

Thieves Like Us is such an underrated movie. It's a MGM title,so...fingers crossed

I'd love to see all four of them released by Criterion, though (+McCabe and Brewster, but that's a whole another story;WB....blah,blah).

I nearly died when I saw
[Show spoiler]Eraserhead
added to the channel. That is probably my favorite movie of all-time. I had been waiting to get the UK blu-ray, but now, hopefully, I won't have to import anything at all.

No, not all titles, but at the very least it proves they have the rights to the film, which hopefully extends to a blu release. I can't imagine they would have the rights and not release it.

Lot's of love for Lynch, maybe Criterion should release Dune

Beside Dune the only other thing I ever really enjoyed from him was Twin Peaks
