I guess I'm a dumbass. I did like 7 separate orders, and didn't even try to see if B2G1 still worked if just ordered in larger multiples of 3.

Don't feel so bad AgentOrange. I was in the middle of putting together an order when that sale ended. The prices in my cart shot up. 50% off is still a great deal.

Great job, Wally. I can tell you from my actual viewing experience that many of those films are terrific (most of them are already in my collection).

So, for how long is the 50% Off sale confirmed to continue? What is the expiration date?

Since this thread is going to be sale talk as well, and I don't feel like posting in the sales thread here's a coupon for non-B&N members (well it might work for members too) for online orders:

Quote:
Non-Members (Visa Card Required)
To save an Extra 15% ONLINE, enter coupon code Y4A7P7U at checkout. The 15% discount will be applied to the highest-priced item in your cart, and when payment is made with a Visa card. Pre-orders are not eligible with this offer. Expiration date unknown?
It didn't work on the B2G1 sale, but it worked for me this morning when I ordered M, Late Spring, and The Samurai Trilogy. Too bad Le Havre wasn't included in the sale, as it comes out on the 31st, the day after the sale ends. I really wanted that one. Now I just have to wait a month.

I'd be game for Persona, Gosford Park, Nashville, and The Blob. Rosemary's Baby is good, but those first films I listed are better.

I only planned on buying three discs (leaving for vacation tomorrow, can't spend too much) but I doubled that with the Buy Two/Get One offer and ended up with The Samurai Trilogy, Shallow Grave, The 39 Steps, Charade, Harold and Maude and The Music Room for $100.20

I get back from vacation next Tuesday, I will probably swing by a store on the way home and grab a copy of Down by Law and that will be it for me.

Well aware of it, but you just know not everyone will post in it, as some of the sales buffs get persnickety and it turns into a battle royale.

Let's talk about The Samurai Trilogy, it's out and only 1-2 posts on the PQ. Let's talk about thr films themselves so I have an idea of what to expect in a month's time.

Just get it and enjoy it. If you've only seen the DVD's you are in for a treat. They look great. As far as the movies themselves it has to be one of the best Trilogies ever made not to mention one of the best Samurai movies IMO. I also appreciated the short, but informative special feature for each movie by historian William Scott Wilson. Sometimes I prefer stuff like that compared to titles that have too many special features that go over the same stuff or are sometimes just downright boring stuff.

Someone refresh my memory. If your a B&N member don't you get a 10% discount online ? Because I'm not.

I thought the 10% was instore, and you got express shipping free as a member.

Samurai Trilogy is 100% blind buy based on my love for Toshiro Mifune.

It's one of the few blind buys I have left. And it's been ordered and I expect to enjoy it. I'm just surprised by the lack of discussion on it.
