All versions of this film look a little soft and muddled so IMO any added detail even if slight is a improvement. Rest assured this will probably be the best the film looks for a very long time plus its a great film.

There's never been anything to even hint that MULHOLLAND DRIVE is owned by Criterion except that ERASERHEAD turned up on Hulu. We might as well get our hopes up that THE KING OF COMEDY is going to get a Criterion release because they've also released LAST TEMPTATION OF CHRIST.

That is not entirely true. A couple of pages back someone posted a link to a youtube version of Mulholland Drive that was taken down after a copyright complaint from The Criterion Collection, which raises the possibility that they own the rights to the filim.

The youtube account also had Criterion-owned titles so that was a bit of a dead end. Even if Criterion has licensed it from Universal, it would make absolutely no sense for them to send out copyright infringement notices as they would have no right to.

Although this makes complete sense, is there another reason for Criterion to be mentioned in the copyright snippet?

I haven't seen Mulholland Dr for a while, is there maybe a scene where a Criterion title is shown on a TV screen or something?

On their site is where I look first... I usually pull up the Coming soon page and refresh it when ever I go in seeing it it was updated the title count on the page will/ should go from 17 titles to 20 + as they are loaded. I don't do facebook but they also list them on twitter with a link.

Yes it would. They are licensing titles to Criterion, not selling them.

If they paid for exclusive distribution rights, it could make sense. Besides Youtube has been known to pull videos even when the complainant does not actually own the video.
