Is it a huge upgrade over the 2nd CC DVD release? |

I never woned the DVD release but I'm assuming so. It has quite a bit of detail that I didn't see in previous releases.

Very interesting packaging on the Jean Gremillion Eclipse set. The first film comes with a thin booklet, but lays loose in the case with no clips to hold it. The other two films come in cases with clips, but no booklets and the usual "insert" as part of the inside cover art (that has a brief piece on the film). I wonder if this was done purposely or just an accident in packaging?
![]() Oh well...can't wait to dig into it this weekend. ![]() |

Fear of Fear Satan's Brew (my favorite of this bunch) Effi Briest Chinese Roulette Fox and his Friends The Bitter Tears of Petra Von Kant The Merchant of Four Seasons The American Soldier Gods of the Plague Love is Colder than Death Beware of a Holy ***** Mother Kusters Goes to Heaven to add to the other Wellspring titles (the BRD Trilogy and Fear Eats the Soul). I am also holding out hope that they still have LILI MARLEEN, as out of all of these, it's the only film not available and his biggest production. Come on Criterion! If the review of their Turin Horse bluray(I ordered it today) is any indicator, I'd love to see them release them as well. Really I just want to see them released because chances are once I see them I'll be craving them on blu.

Totally off topic (sorry), but the Toronto International Film Festival announced a number of titles that will be screened, including the new Terrence Malick (To the Wonder), film adaptations of Anna Karenina, Cloud Atlas, and Midnight's Children, some bigger Hollywood fare, and, something I'm particularly keen on, Asian cinema.

Hopefully it's BRD re-issue and Lili Marleen (hopefully) next. Then maybe a Eclipse release of "Early Fassbinder". Do some cheaper priced blu-rays (feature-less) to some of the films (like Satan's Brew, Fear of Fear. Sucks, being the 2 I want the most. Atleast they will be upgraded.), and then you can release the "Fox and his Friends" type releases loaded with extras. Just a guess. |

Also, how can you tell which of Fassbinder's films came before which? I found two different sites that have different listings:
http://jclarkmedia.com/fassbinder/fa...dits.html#film http://www.fassbinderfoundation.de/node.php/en/filme The former seems to be the more popular choice amongst my searches, but the latter seems more trustworthy seems it's an actual foundation dedicated to the man. Hope to hear some input! |

Do I dare stay up late to see if I can get Le Havre on sale next week, or do I wait and buy it when I have a bit more cash on hand in October at B&N, and "get raped on the price" if one is to believe the sales thread junkies. I'm going to ME and NH for a shopping trip, and was planning on sinking a lot of cash into B&N anyways by buying the new Nook eInk reader with backlight. My Sony's the 2009 model I bought on clearance two years ago and it's getting a little down in the mouth.
Also, anyone care to explain why Amazon would recommend me The Rescuers/The Rescuers Down Under BD pack because I own Letter Never Sent? I mean, I enjoy the films and I have them on Pre-order on a different site, but I cannot get the connection at all unless it's superficially because they all have to do with "rescues." |
