I really think Zodiac is a smart choice, at least I really want to see it.
Other then the fact the Paramount Bluray is OOP I see no reason for Criterion to release it. The current release is one of the best looking Blurays out there in terms of quality and PQ/AQ. No real room for improvement. I'd rather they get out some titles that have yet to be released in HD.

Personally I'm still holding out for Rashomon. Its going on a few years since the massive restoration of the film and I still have not seen it. Plus its been a long time since the last Kurosawa release.

I'm really not sure what they're waiting for with Rashomon. I saw the restoration print about 2 years ago and it was great. When the blu-ray arrives people will not be disappointed.

Yeah, somebody at Paramount just needs to fire off an email and all will be well.

Really?

Criterion asks what films people want to see and that's your pick? Really?

Paramount released a nice 2-disc blu-ray in 2009 and you think Criterion needs to re-release it already? Really?

Out of the hundreds of thousands of films in the world that have yet to ever see a proper home video release for consumers and Zodiac comes to mind for a second blu-ray release? Really?

In the name of cinema all over the world, I hang my head in shame.

Does this mean six more weeks of winter?

No, that can't be right...

I think that from now on, all big Hollywood studios should release all of their movies under Criterion, everyone will be buying it seem, it's a win-win for them

I think that you're being a bit over the top, and snobbish.

Zodiac definitely would make a great Criterion release. And though there was a great studio edition, it's OOP now and very hard to find. SO it's reasonable and realistic to think of Zodiac as a possibility. I personally would think that it would be a great release. Just because someone has an opinion that differs from yours, you feel that it's ok for you to ridicule them? Really??

I think that Scorsese's The King of Comedy would be an amazing release.

Come on everyone, we haven't had a good "mainstream vs art house" debate in weeks, everyone to your keyboards and debate

If I could request one title for Criterion to release, it would be A Brighter Summer Day. I wonder if that one's still in the works.

The art house crowd is too busy discussing their trip to Paraguay, at an independent downtown coffee shop, in Latin, with other hipsters.

That's a big fat lie, I am here and I don't speak Latin

I speak French does that count?
