I know but I don't think the Spanish releases have any extras and I'd like some for Erice's films.

I'm sure this has been discussed, ITT, but I why do some criterions have playback and some don't and what are the relative merits for one way or the other?

I prefer having an option to resume where I left off because sometimes I have to stop a movie for a while and would like to get back without going through the chapters and finding where I left off.

I'd love to see Mulholland Dr and The Wicker Man (1973) added to the collection.

Since I couldn't find the set on amazon.es yesterday I assumed that it was still exclusive.

I'd definitely like to see those films in the collection. It'd also be nice to have some combination of Blow Up, L'eclisse, La notte,
L'avventura, or Il Grido.

I have the Wicker Man [1973] on DVD but it was not released by Criterion, hence, the possibility as of this moment, is remote.

That Victor Erice set is so sick. I wish I had a region free player. I reaaaally hope Criterion releases this. El Sur on Blu would be incredible.

Funny, I just watched the US DVD of After Hours a couple of nights ago - hadn't seen it since the days of VHS. It's a great dark funny movie.

As I watched it I was impressed by the picture quality - so much so that I thought to myself that it's one that I probably wouldn't feel the need to upgrade to bluray if it ever comes out in that format. It's probably sacrilege to say such a thing, and I've rarely thought that about movies I own on DVD - I can usually see room for improvement.

Prediction time...

On the Waterfront paired with The Fugitive Kind

Husbands

Haven't had any AK in a while - Drunken Angel

Box set - BRD (no reason to expect it, I just want it and I wouldn't say no to The Decalogue either)

It's about time - Wild Strawberries, Spartacus

Out of nowhere - Fail-Safe, The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance, Rififi

I think it has to do with whether java has been utilized on the bd.
if a bd uses java, you don't get the continue ability.
(at least that is what I read one time when this issue was being discussed)
