Either that or it's just a coincidence and it has zero influence on the folks at Crit Co.
So you're not taking credit for The Game then?

Anyway...based on the films I saw posted...I'm taking a wild stab at a possible Eclipse set:"Naruse - Four Films". I can't believe I found four of his films that I have NEVER heard of: Ginza Cosmetics (1951), Mother (1952), Wife (1953) and Scattered Clouds (1967).
EDIT: never mind sorry, the 2 month trial promotion has ended unfortunately.

That would be a very interesting set

I wonder if Criterion has the rights to Floating Clouds.

No way. Credit goes to Nolan fanatics on that one.

Hate to be redundant but; Rashomon. I saw it in theaters sometime in the early nineties, my parents took me. To be honest my main reeactions at the time were fear, and fascination; the film stuck with me ever since. I've only seen it one time since, and would be ecstatic for the BD.

Of course speculation is part of the fun, like everyone else, there's lots of films I would want.

Agree, but I feel it might be low on the upgrade list, I love the cover to the DVD edition.

For me
Rashomon
Spider Web Castle
Bad sleep Well

Indeed Pat! I might do the trial/buy a sub for Hulu, just to see those films.

I feel like we know the field the announcements will largely draw from later today, that's why there have been no real 'hints'. I really hope there will be some surprises though.

The BFI put out a great set containing Floating Clouds, Late Chrysanthemums and When a Woman Ascends the Stairs. I'd love some Naruse in HD though and I don't think the BFI will ever upgrade it.

My predictions:

On the Waterfront
Heaven's Gate
El Sur
Rashomon
The Spirit of the Beehive
Eclipse: Cinema Novo

My wish is for Koyaanisqatsi because I'm a glutton for punishment.

Couldn't the long awaited title be Wild Strawberries?

There are quite a few long awaited titles, but not just upgrades to Blu, but actual first time releases.
I hope there is something that will knock my socks off or pleasantly surprise me.

Been wishing for so long.
