Don't forget that directors get a "People" page even for stuff they had very little to do with. Nights of Cabiria is featured on Pasolini's page for the "Additional Dialogue" he contributed to the film. So their listing doesn't necessarily mean a film directed by them will be getting a release.

Jerry Bruckheimer has a page for instance, even though no film he ever directed has been released by Criterion.

Yup, happened to me right after I bought Weekend. I'd put it off for a little while..

I'm blown away by the Heaven's Gate announcement. It's been near the top of my CC wishlist for as long as I've known about Criterion.

I hope this will get more people to re-evaluate the film. Most people only know it as the box-office-megabomb that killed United Artists. It's more than that, it's a great film. This is going to be gorgeous in hi-def!

I'm also very excited for Rashomon. Criterion has been on fire this year!

Following my previous post, the Ivan Reitman page could be explained away by something he produced, such as two of Cronenberg's early films, Rabid and Shivers.

You're the second person to say that and it's not entirely true. Yes, it's very well known for being a box office bomb but it was also pretty well known for being savaged by pretty much anybody with a typewriter.

It isn't just known as a flop, it's known as a really bad flop.

Maybe that's justified, maybe it's not but it's definitely part of its reputation.

They could also have just forgot to delete it along with the Kindergarten Cop april fools. Unless they're releasing both Reitman and Arnold Schwarzenegger

I'm in for AK,JLG and PPP. I'm really stoked for that trilogy set. I haven't seen them but they look terribly fascinating.

It seems like ON THE WATERFRONT is going to be doing the heavy lifting in December possibly. It'll be a sparse month with it and maybe something like BITTER RICE and few others ones they finally clear out of the ol' closet .

Or maybe letting everybody think that was an April Fool's joke was the April Fool's joke.

It'd be awesome. Rita Hayworth is dead sexy in Gilda. Would look great in HD

It might be all of the Parajanov films Kino released on DVD, not just The Color of Pomegranates (which isn't even the best film IMO).
