Paris, Texas
Because it's one of my favorite films. I could just as easily say the same for Vivre sa vie, Zero de conduite/The Complete Jean Vigo, Wings of Desire, The Man Who Fell To Earth, Walkabout, Chungking Express, Yojimbo, The 400 Blows...

The Night of the Hunter
Because this is the sort of package one expects when you think of Criterion. Great film, great transfer, great extras.

The Third Man
Because as long as there is a demand for it, I'll never go hungry.

seriously, I can't choose 3 as MANY of my Criterions have history behind many as I used to go to a indie film theatre here in Detroit for ages and saw many of them when released on the big screen with people who I have memories of and when I watch the BD it takes me back to that time in my life

Totally agree! I saw Ace not too long ago and was very impressed. It made me want to explore Wilder which, in turn, is seriously tempting me to go region free (MOC had released Double Indemnity and Lost Weekend).

Also very eager to get Cranes and Burmese Harp (another title MOC's already released)

Its almost impossible to pick just 3 titles. Many titles I love equally as well.

1) The Music Room - For the haunting beauty of both the beautiful black and white photography and the music.
2) Red ( or Blue) - Kieslowski is just pure genius.
3) Battle of Algiers -For the sheer drama, tension and emotion. Such a great docu style that it seems they just filmed the real events.

Again 3 choices is not enough. I'd at least add in some Bergman. Also Harakiri just for the excellent framing and crisp cinematography. I'd go on, but that defeats the purpose of selecting just 3. It just can't be done.

1. Le Samouraï - Because it defines cool; it takes a few existing genres mixes the elements perfectly and becomes its own special genre. Melville’s love for filmmaking really comes through and inspired many filmmakers since. I want it on Blu ray.

2. Army of Shadows – We all grew up with American and British WWII movies that were presented kick ass John Wayne style. Army of Shadows is a heroic take on WWII that shows it in a different perspective. Thrilling and very personal, it is a great film about heroism and initiative to defend your country with whatever abilities are before you.

3. In the Mood for Love - Nothing that we haven’t seen many times before; but somehow this love story comes off fresh and original. Like most great love stories it is heartbreaking and fragile. It has great replay value and I recommend it to people often.

1. The Night of the Hunter
One of the most amazing, thought provoking, engaging and thrilling films ever committed to celluloid. The extras are informative and provide a portrait of film making unlike any extra I've ever watched.

2. The Third Man
As a writer, this is one of my favorite films. Its wonderfully shot and tells a story so wrought with mystery and suspense, you can hardly turn away from it once it starts.

3. Godzilla
The packaging, the extras, the sound, the picture. One of my favorites of all time, finally done right.

1- Eclipse Series 19: Dusan Makavejev Free Radical - Probably my favorite Criterion release as a whole. Love Affair is one of my favorite films and the other too are gems.

2- Army of Shadows - It is a WWII film like no other. So realistic and personal.

3- Pierrot le Fou - Awesome.

I'm really curious what's going to arrive. Interestingly enough he changed the prices right after i bought them. The Complete Jean Vigo is now $26.86, The Darjeeling Limited $26.89 and Godzilla is now $27.11.
The others are still the same.

Really strange...
Just got the first two titles in my order. They are 100% official criterion Blu rays! Get excited! You just got a sweet deal!

Fantastic. He sent mine yesterday, but I'm in the UK so I've got a bit to wait yet. Getting in on good Criterion deals is pretty rare when you have to import anyway. Getting Darjeeling Limited, Rushmore, Che and Pigs, Pimps and Prostitutes for £28, including international delivery is unbelievable. Importing these at normal prices would have set me back about £110!

Same here! He shipped my order today... I'm really excited. Got Che, The Complete Jean Vigo, The Darjeeling Limited, Gojira and If... for just 42.-/shipped... that's definitely the best Criterion deal I've ever made.
Thanks so much for the heads-up billzfan!

Sweet. I got shipping notices a couple days ago for Che and Darjeeling. Was like $19 shipped for both. Not exactly high priority titles for me, but for the right price I'm happy to check them out. (I believe I already had all the other titles that he had with extreme lowball prices)

Seems like it was just a fluke or price mistake. If they deliver the goods I will definitely pay more attention to this seller though.
