Too bad. The Canadian stores have a headphone jack y/n listing under specs. Best buy USA doesn't seem to have that. What other retailers are good for electronics down south?

Maybe my eyes lie to me but I can clearly see the visual "upgrade" on my 40' TV. The DVDs I own still look like DVDs and the BDs just as any other BD I have seen on 50'-60' TVs.

And even if that is the case...quality of picture is more important than size!

AGREED! As per my last post.

Does anybody else miss the low-priced releases ? I miss them not only because of the price but mainly because of the selection. They stand as some of the highlights of the year (In my opinion, of course).

Whatever floats your boat.
I know I'm basically nickel-and-diming myself buying BDs when I could put that money toward a better TV to enjoy them on first. I am definitely guilty of wanting the instant gratification of the actual movies, and it's more practical to buy them on BD.

The majority of my viewing is still DVDs and streams, though, so I am not in a hurry to upgrade. Similar to what another poster stated, I upgraded to 32" flatscreen from a 13" CRT, so I am happy at the "intermediate" level. DVDs upscale nicely, streams are fine (YouTube is even sufferable) and BDs look great (and IMHO, some of the 1080s I've watched render the image too much like video and lose their "filmic" quality).

I watched Vivre sa vie again last night and it looked fantastic!

I went from 20 inch old school TV to 40 inch LCD about 5 years ago. Recently I felt the need to go for something larger to open up the picture a little bit on all my blus. Went with a 50 inch LED, was worried it would look too big in my living room, it doesn't, and now I already want something bigger!

I really need to experience "A Safe Place" on 70" plus!

Man, three pages of people comparing the size of their "units".

Heh heh, guess I'll chime in with mine...

In the immortal words of Cleavon Little: "Excuse me while I whip this out..."

[Show spoiler]65-inches of plasma love.

Of course, by the standards here, that is a mid-size.

I was so stoked when I got the Barnes and Noble email about the "buy 2, get 1 free" deal.

I was totally going to snap up some so quickly.

But then I remembered the 50% off sale in November...

Decisions, decisions.
