I called Barnes & Noble customer service and surprisingly I was on the line for under 3 minutes. I told her what happened, she asked for my order number and then I was told they would be shipping me another copy and I would receive an email about it shortly. I was really surprised by that. I haven't received an email since I called but I hope I actually get it. If not I'll consider contacting Criterion but would they replace it since I didn't buy it through them? Or even respond if they thought it was a bogus claim? How this happened boggles my mind Not so much the possible fact it was a mishap during production, but that I waited so long to open it and this happens. I sort of feel like a robbed fool.

Interesting: I Am Waiting is the only film in this set shot in the 1.33:1 rather than the usual anamorphic widescreen process.
I thought the films got better as I worked my way the Nikkatsu box-set, so you're in for a treat.

Really looking forward to it then because this first movie was very good

I've had similar problems, I think some email services like Yahoo are read as spam by some recipient services. He may not be receiving them

Try calling their office in NY.

I've sent him a few messages mainly requesting new booklets and covers to replace damaged ones. I've naturally offered to pay for those. He's always replied quickly, mostly in a few days and has been super helpful and friendly. That's why I'm a bit worried as it has now been like over 4 weeks and no reply.

Hmm, the fact it works with The Blob, a title soon to be redundant with the TBA Blu-ray coming, has me hoping the other titles are in the running for Blu-ray upgrades as well. Maybe they want to get rid of the old stock.

There is a Hulu 50% off of selected titles every week. Don't read too much into the selections as there are new ones every week.

I never had trouble getting responses to numerous emails about Three Colours White, Carlos and movie posters.
Not sure why so many people have trouble hearing back from Criterion.

Discussion seems to be running low right now so here is a "hint" Criterion gave at their FB Wall. Here's the hint: "The Blu-ray upgrade is one of our most anticipated... It will make a lot of people very happy". I think it will be one of the next three:

- Le Samourai
- Brazil
- Andrei Rublev

Le Samourai seems to me like the most probable choice as it touches middle-ground. Brazil isn't something I am dying for so it would be disappointing. Andrei Rublev would be ideal but knowing Criterion and their new "strategy" I see this as the least possible. Of course, if they want to really give us something great they could release The Cranes are Flying and/or Taste of Cherry. I take those two over all the others listed above.

Also, by the way they worded the hint we could assume there is only going to be a single upgrade. I think the month will have an upgrade, a new title and an Eclipse set. Don't know what to expect from Monday, I am not overly positive about the possibilities.

I believe Panic in the Streets is Richard Widmark's Blu-ray debut. We need more of his films on blu-ray.
