It sounds interesting regardless.
They were filmed all over the world. They're dialogue-less so foreign or not really doesn't matter.

Perfect month if you ask me. Nice to finally see Brazil get a definite Blu-ray release, Chris Nolan now has his complete filmography on Blu, Purple Noon seems like a great title (and a complete un-hinted-at surprise), and I love the Qatsi films and all films like them. Seeing Samsara tomorrow!

Chris Nolan in Criterion, I know quite a bunch that will go GAGA over this, if they actually know the movie of course

Brazil and Purple Noon get possible piques...the former a little moreso.

And that's 2012. From my vantage one of the better things that can be said about the year is that titles in the 'Criterion can you release _______' wheelbank have largely been exhausted...well, at least most of the ones at my lesser interest end of the spectrum.

If only some clarification on Badlands can be revealed quickly...though there are so many other Warner's titles I'd rather see Criterion negotiate for release.

Probably in for Following and Purple Noon. Will think about Qatsi trilogy, maybe during some sale next year.

This +1. The month is good in my opinion because they will release everything that keeps getting requested. I am sure they threw Purple Noon there just so the "whiners" (Me included ) will not think they have completely forgotten about them. Bad month.

I speak of the Wes Andersons, Following, The Game...stuff like that.

Though In The Mood For Love - a highly requested title - does fit into my higher-interest end of the spectrum.

Only one more film that I am hoping they hurry up and get out of the way. Don't care for it and just wanted it announced already.

Following (Aka "By Christopher Nolan Following A Film") is a good, not great film, which is understandable since it's the director's first. It seems Criterion just wanna bank on the "Nolan-brand" i think.

Brazil i'm looking forward to, i've never seen it but i love Terry Gilliam and is definitely picking it up!

The rest i have no interest in. Hopefully 2013 will have more exciting releases for us core film fans!

Only title from December I'm interested in is Brazil, although since it'd be a blind buy, I may get the Universal release. I'm still so pumped for Rashoman and Rosemary's Baby

There are hundreds of good, not great, films in the collection. I'm excited about all the December titles.

I don't think that the 'Criterion can you release INSERT NAME HERE OF VERY GENERIC HOLLYWOOD MOVIE THAT AS NO NEED OF A CRITERION RELEASE' will ever stop. People will always demand something like the newest Fincher or Anderson or Gilliam that can be done quite well by the major studios. For right or wrong there is always this idea that Criterion releases are always the best and that majors just release garbage.
