If my store doesn't have it, which would be odd since they do have a huge DVD section, I could still get 50% off online, right? I'm also a BN member, by the way.
Yes, you can.

You just won't get an additional 10% off for being a member and you won't be able to stack coupons lol.

there is def going to be a 50% off sale. this same thing happens every year: people hear its not going to happen, but it always does. i've talked to the manager of the media department at my local store, he confirmed that its happening.

So since I am a member, I will get 50% and also a 10% for being a member?

My instincts say no but it's worth asking.

Awesome. This Tuesday will more epic than I thought. I'll probably pick up 20 films. Now to do some research and decide which movies appeal to me.

It takes some time and patience but if you look back thorough this thread there are some great recommendations from the members here. Some of their opinions are very detailed and very well written and almost always informative. Good luck.

Watched The Phantom Carriage the other day with the earlier soundtrack. Thought it was excellent. I'll have to watch it with the more recent music next time.

So you listened to the one that is less experimental, right? I liked that one a lot more than the experimental one, myself .

The B&N sale is expected to end on the 19th of November and Heaven's Gate is released a day later on the 20th of November.
With that in mind, it's worth noting that Amazon currently have it at 40% off for $29.99.
I think I'll order that one now with some other non-Criterion blu-rays that have been sitting in my cart for a while.

Amazon will more than likely drop the price to $24.99 on release date.

Yes, I was kind of excited when I saw they had two different soundtracks on there. Pretty neat

I would be surprised. Amazon doesn't typically sell new Criterions for 50% off and Heaven's Gate is regularly $49.99.

If you have a little bit of scratch set aside you can always purchase a large majority of films and resell them on eBay.

That is how I afford my hobby. Make it pay for itself...

Target

So for blu-ray, right now we have:

OOP

The Third Man
The Man Who Fell From Earth
Pierrot le Fou
Chungking Express

RUMORED

Howard's End (rumored by Dr. Mabuse)
Play Time (rumored by blkhrt)

I have all of these except for Howard's End. I'd really appreciate any feedback in other rumored OOP titles or links to the rumors/reasons...

<EDIT> Added Chungking Express to the OOP section and Play Time to the rumored, thanks for the help!!

Chungking Express is OOP.

Also, I don't have Howard's End, but I'll more than likely pick it up during the sale.
