I'm still trying to figure out what I'm going to order from BN.com

I know for a fact I'm ordering:
1. America: Lost And Found
2. Bad Timing (DVD)
3. Broadcast News
4. Cronos
5. Ice Storm (DVD)
6. Island Of Lost Souls
7. Magician
8. Repulsion
9. Sisters (DVD)
10. Sunday Bloody Sunday
11. Three Colors Trilogy

I don't know if I should pre-order anything or order any other films, though.

I'm contemplating:
[Show spoiler]1. Au Revoir Les Enfants
2. Close Up
3. Homicide (DVD)
4. In The Mood For Love
5. In The Realm Of The Senses
6. Knife In The Water (DVD)
7. Last Wave (DVD)
8. Metropolitan
9. Rosetta
10. Spartacus (DVD)
11. Spy Who Came In From The Cold (DVD)
12. Vanishing (DVD)
13. White Dog (DVD)
14. Wings Of Desire

If I end up pre-ordering anything, I'll get Brazil, Following, Heaven's Gate, Ivan's Childhood, Man Who Knew Too Much, Purple Noon, and Rashomon.

New titles are announced on the 15th of every month, or, if the 15th falls on a weekend, they are announced on the closest weekday.

But a few weeks back I spent 160$ from this one guy on craigslist to get a "Like New" copy of The Third Man, and sealed copies of The Man Who Fell To Earth and Pierrot Le Fou. It's an expensive habit.

My first Criterion was actually the 3-disc Brazil set, so this would be an upgrade. I also want to upgrade my copies of Darjeeling, Modern Times, Great Dictator and Paths of Glory. I was stupid when I first got them because I wasn't that much into BD even though I have a BD player on my laptop. Just looking at how amazing the quality is...I kinda kick myself.....
Future Shop and Best Buy do too, but the selection is crap. They're also high. They still want 70 for the original Fear and Loathing DVD release.

The BBS set and the Monkees were the reason I began to buy Criterion on BD. If I'm going to rebuy my favourite film because of Criterion releasing it properly in a massive box set, you bet I'm getting it on BD. It also prompted me to take BD more seriously.

My copy of Brazil is the single disc set which I got used from Rogers Video in London, Ont when I was doing my MLIS. It was my first Criterion and I remember being so happy I could get a Criterion for under 15 bucks used.

Did they let you pre-order Brazil? It doesn't come out until after the sale is over.... unless you bought the DVD?

It seems as if they took down The Third Man replacement case from their website.

Watched Hausu again, watched Silence of the Lambs, and via Red-Box I picked up "The Artist"

When I got "The Artist" the first thing I see when it spits it out is a Sticky-Note inside the case saying "DOES NOT PLAY" and I think "Great, that stinks" was going to rent a back-up copy, but thought screw-it......

Either way, I get home, toss it in the player, and it plays flawlessly (I checked for cracks, found none, and it was in immaculate shape)

Gotta love people who don't understand that either A) BD will not play in their DVD player, or B) Firmware should be upgraded every couple millenium!

I wound up streaming "The Artist" on NetFlix and really enjoyed it. I might even consider purchasing it at some point. Please let me know how the supplemental material is.

Totally forgot that they sell them, but then again, THEY SUCK AT SELLING CRITERION!

The first Criterion BD I got was Fear and Loathing, because I love Gilliam and Monty Python, and it looked gorgeous, now I'm stuck getting the BD versions of Criterion films (unless the OOP stuff only is in DVD format)

Unfortunately since it was part of a "3 movie night" for me, I didn't delve into the supplemental material, and dropped it off in the redbox this morning....

Default Chungking Express

I got a little nervous about finding Chungking Express at a decent price so I pulled the trigger on the current Amazon offer of $22.79.

It was still sitting on the shelf of my closest B&N store last week, but when I visited the store yesterday, somebody beat me to it, which was the only copy they had in stock. So I figured it would cost me more for the price of gas to find it than to just order it online. This is a total blind buy for me ... I'm only buying it now because of it going out of print. If I can believe the reviews, I think I'll like it.
[Show spoiler](Not that anybody really needs to know any of this. But the chances of somebody being able to relate to this is better in this forum than with any of my nearby friends. )

FS had a sale 2-3 years ago just before Christmas, a lot of the Criterion Blu-rays were $24. It has never happened since.

I pre-ordered Following (along with a few other orders). It seems weird that they're allowing pre-orders of titles released in December, after the sale... but not the January titles. I'd have ordered Two-lane Blacktop and The Man Who Knew Too Much.

Because you can't use the 8/40 coupon with pre-orders (though someone reported being able to do that too).

Is anybody having problems with the orders on the B&N sale? I noticed the website is a little slow... I made 4 orders yesterday and 2 today, and although all of them were confirmed with an order number and everything, until now i didn't receive any e-mail with the confirmations, and the orders doesn't appear in my "order status" panel on my account.

Do i need to worry about this?

Is there any hope of Criterion releasing blus for editions that already have a blu from another studio? I'm thinking Armageddon, Withnail & I, etc.? I'm sure that it's a rights issue of some sort, so I'm not sure anyone here would even know.
