Yeah, Rocha deserves to enter the Collection not only because Latin American Cinema is nowhere to be found in it but also because he IS a master-class filmmaker on his own. He was a Cannes favorite back in the day. Imagine a future (Say, 40 years from now) where Lars von Trier is obscure stuff and we are basically on the same train here

I finally watched The Life of Oharh on Hulu last weekend. What a great vehicle for Tanaka to show her depth...especially in an atypical role for her. She might just replace Setsuko Hara as my favorite Japanese actress. I've seen her in a number of Kinoshita films and have enjoyed them immensely. Kinoshita has joined my list of favorite Japanese directors...I've really enjoyed his films.

Now that the sale has been extended I'm kind of bummed I ordered Heaven's Gate to be shipped to my house instead of waiting and buying it in store. Does anyone know if it's a cardboard case? Will it get damaged? Been hearing a lot of horror stories lately.

I've had decent luck with B&N shipping but if you do have a problem taking it into a store and exchanging it is really easy.

I ordered rosemary's baby from them and it wasn't in a cardboard case. It was in perfect condition though.

I would be happy with that. I also wouldn't be surprised to see something like Eraserhead or the Grey Gardens set announced.

If it helps, I had Heaven's Gate ordered with 2 other December titles (the early Dec. titles). I went online and cancelled one item from the 3 and it shows the other 2 will still ship as they would have had there been 3.

If you only ordered one title, unless it has shipped, you could probably cancel it and buy in store. You save more $ in-store anyway with the 10% membership discount and any stackable coupon. In order to get any coupons to work online, the item has to be already released, meaning you'd have to order it on the 20th or later.
