FYI...Pistol Opera is available to stream on NetFlix...

EDIT: Beat me to it again Joe!

More on topic ... I watched Vivre Sa Vie for the first time last night via DVR. Some of the film's conversation went over my head. I need to watch it again.

Pretty good deal if you ask me. 6 films, some very rare and hard to find from Imamura for under $50, a better deal than most Eclipse sets.
Thanks for the heads up on this, brother! I'll probably have to hold off until after Christmas, but I definitely want to pick this up.

Had to re-read this twice, as I was hoping that somehow it got leaked that Criterion might release the Roger Corman film on BD.

My order for the B&N sale:

Heaven's Gate
The 39 Steps
Rosemary's Baby
Rashomon
Summer With Monika
Summer Interlude

What I actually recieved:

Heaven's Gate
The Complete Jean Vigo
Rosemary's Baby
Senso
Rashomon
The BBS Story

WTF. The is like the 6th time I've ordered from B&N.com and the third time they have screwed up an order.

Never again.

I'd actually be OK with it if I didn't already have Senso and the BBS set. And I don't have any interest in Jean Vigo.

I feel like I'm the only person here who watches the films I buy from the collection within a week after I buy them. I'm always reading about how people here buy them more often than watch them.... Makes me wonder if I have too much time or everyone else has too little time

2) Is anybody a fan of Forgiveness of Blood. Its a well intentioned, thoughtful film to be sure, but I wasn't too taken with it. It very well may be that it's not great late night viewing

3) let the Duel at Ganryu begin

grain was great. but my roomate had to come in and ruin the final scene by continually commenting on the girls stomach fat.

Completely agree with both these points. Blood achieved what it was trying to do well, it just didn't feel special to me.

I loved that just because of how real and genuinely passionate it felt...I'd have been annoyed in your position

Yes it does. I was just thinking his films need to Criterion'd big time.

So, since the March releases will be announced in less than 10 days, what do you guys hope to see now?

Hopefully we get some of the announced films and I'm sure (by now) we'll get another Eclipse set (it's been what? three months?).

Herzog on Blu would be awesome and even better if Criterion issued them out. BUT then we would have to wait for individual titles every month or year.

A box-set or something would be better.
