Very true it only counts if you already spent money on it. A friend of mine imported the UK DVD and it does have a strong image for a DVD but HD would be even better. esp for that brick patterns that Standard def has issues with.

This new label, or brand, if you will, will specialize in releasing blu-rays of titles already on the market from other studios. Think about it, titles like Zodiac, Casablanca and The Lord of The Rings trilogy will now get the "criterion treatment" they so richly deserve. This label will strictly observe the original disc art supervisor's artistic intent in every detail. The only way you'll be able to identify these specially priced little beauties is with a special set of criterion glasses available from CC's website. Due to production costs, these discs will run 10 to 20 dollars higher than the original releases, but think of all you will get!

I still think maybe some Paramount titles that are new to Criterion, but with already established Criterion directors. So maybe more James L. Brooks, Altman, etc.

Never even seen it up until last week but now I want an Alphaville upgrade! The black and white cinematography was simply splendid.

I see 3 feasible scenarios:

1.) Big mean a large or long film which would likely be Shoah.
2.) Big meaning the highly anticipated title, in which case it's probably Badlands.
3.) Big meaning a title that will excite lots of people, in which case all bets are off and it's probably one no one is expecting.
