Yeah, I'm trying to find out where it says NC-17 on the package. All I see are five logos on the bottom, the film companies, copy protected, Region A and Blu-ray disc.

It does not actually, they only describe it as uncensored.

It's too bad, I think, that "The Human Condition" is only getting the standard DVD treatment right now. Great titles, though!

Nice titles I have been waiting for a Criterion release of REPULSION forever! I have the old PAL region 2 Anchor Bay release. The current US copy is this awful Full Frame public domain release.

Saddened we aren't getting the Godard Made in the U.S.A. on blu, I will still buy the DVD edtition, I figure it will be years before they will release the BD counterpart if they aren't ready to do it now. :-(

I have put off buying the Criterion LD of repulsion for years in hopes of a release on DVD.

Great cover art also.

I want some GODARD on BLU badly!!!!! By the time we get Contempt I will be feeling it for sure haha

I understand how you feel too.. just really hard to purchase a standard DVD anymore. I honestly and I know I could get smacked for saying this but would rather have all standard DVDs delayed that are released by Criterion until they are able to release the Blu counterpart.

I've been passing on a lot of standard dvd titles even though Criterion stated to buy away because they didn't plan on doing BDs for newer releases until way after on blu.. sooo it is a double edge sword with a really dull blade that may even have been tainted with poison haha.

I still love the Criterion releases just don't like seeing what could have been on blu. I fear those titles like Made in USA get knocked so far on their coming soon lists. :-(

Criterion releasing The Human Condition is really like a dream come true, it's something I've been waiting YEARS for.......but like you I am loathe to buy anything at all on DVD now.
I almost certainly won't buy it on DVD

Well, certainly not for their current asking price of $63.95. I'll save that money for the blu-ray release, if it ever happens.

Can't wait for Repulsion. I also have the R2/PAL release, but a double-dip for a Blu-ray is a no-brainer.

I like how Criterion has been "rescuing" great movies that were released previously but didn't get the treatment they deserved. The R1 DVDs of In the Realm of the Senses and Repulsion were godawful.

OK, Criterion, where is my Blu-ray edition of Raise the Red Lantern?

I read up on rotton Tomatoes, but I want some real people opinions please. I put it in my Netflix queue, but I may blind buy, depending on feedback. Its description sounds right up my alley, but, you know...sometimes...

It's psychological horror. Catherine Deneuve's character has a pathological fear of men and sex. Unfortunately, her roommate goes away with a boyfriend and leaves her alone in their apartment, where her sanity slips away. It's gets rather surreal as she starts to have visions...

Extraordinary news, and completely out of left field -- early Polanski, and Repulsion of all things! His early work has been such a formative influence on me, and I haven't seen this since my student days. Month in, month out, they just roll out the big guns.

And I have never seen For All Mankind, but that makes me all the more eager for it. Although I'll probably just end up being jaded about the current pitiful state of all mankind's relationship to space, but what the. Fortieth anniversary of Apollo 11 has to be celebrated in style.

Pro-B, any news on when CC might be upping their monthly BD releases to more than just the two?

It appears that for now (until at least early summer) the two titles will be the standard.
