Agreed. I showed my little sister the shooting scene in "The High Sign" and she just rolled her eyes and left, while I sat there chuckling modestly. I love the fact that silent cinema crafstmen had to overcome the barrier of being dialogue free. Many great films had to work around their limitations and have been all the better for it.

I guess I'll watch People On Sunday and The Phantom Carriage for silent films next. I still have The Gold Rush and The Great Dictator (not sure if they're silent or not, but a handful of Chaplin's films were silent).
I think I'll check out City Girl, Sunrise, and The Ultimate Buster Keaton Collection. Halfway done with The Last Temptation Of Christ right now. |

I'd also consider hunting down the Miramax DVDs, if only for the Insdorf commentaries (and to see Bleu properly framed).

Yeah - especially because it appears that only Shadows and Faces are the region free titles in the UK.

That's another Godard film I used to find fascinating years ago that I lost all interest in later on, like most of those 60s films (like I'd mentioned before)
I really didn't care for the film...I think it's mainly because of the subject matter, but I really wasn't interested. This! I was hesitant at first because I was sure I'd react badly to it, but I ended up surprised at how much I enjoyed the film. |

That's awfully freaking tempting. My only reservation is not being sure whether supplements are English-friendly. Still, thirty-six bucks... |

If having English text on packaging matters to you, I'd go with the UK versions of both Elephant Man & Wild at Heart. The German release of Fire Walk With Me is the only region free release available.

That's what I thought..it's why I've put off the DVD set. If it's out elsewhere, I'm sure we'll get it someday.
