Go figure. I ordered The Matrix digibook using one of those Visa gift cards that I was gonna use for this sale. Could have used that to get another title. Wound up with:

Three Colors Trilogy
Diabolique

May use my regular card later. I have to decide if there's anything else I really want.

How does Criterion ship? Boxes or mailers?

Ugh, was not expecting that at all. Picked up Fanny and Alexander, The 400 Blows, Zazie, and Vivre Sa Vie. The $18 shipping to Canada sucked, but the great prices helped cushion the blow.

Grabbed On The Waterfront and the America Lost and Found set. Gets me 2 closer to finishing my AFI Top 100 collection.

Wasn't planning to so soon, but I went with...

On the Waterfront and Sansho the Bailiff

Only if I could've gotten some of the titles from the killer next month.

This is what makes it tough though. On the Waterfront and TRL are only $44 and change, which is under $50 to get free shipping. so it's $5.95 to get 4-7 day shipping. It's making me buy 3 Criterions.

I was selfishly hoping that they wouldn't have the flash sale this year since I am so broke.

Yea! Caught up on some of the recent releases... Was holding out for the next B&N sale. Picked up:

Kid with a bike
Letter never sent
Lonesome
Man who knew too much
Pina
Sansho
Tiny furniture ( for my girlfriend, I swear!)

Also ordered a bunch of the plastic replacement cases for the early blu releases. Figured I might as well if I'm getting free shipping...

I decided to hold my spending on 3 flicks this sale:

- On The Waterfront (BD)
- Following (BD)
- Heaven's Gate (BD)

I'm getting Pina on BD on Thursday for 20$

Tempting. My only "must" is The Kid with a Bike. On the Waterfront -- a film I like, not love and own on DVD -- is a tempting upgrade considering all the nerdy extras; maybe I'd finally love it? To qualify for free shipping, I'd need a third. A good excuse. Can't think of a third, though (nothing in my short online wish list appeals to me at the moment). Trying to avoid upgrade-itis.

Any suggestions based on my own private Criterion collection (in sig)? My wallet hopes not but my $10 credit hopes so..

The Great Dictator or The Gold Rush, you really can't go wrong with Chaplin. The restoration process for TGR is amazingly beautiful

Ahh, the beloved flash sale. Always a bright spot in an otherwise drab work day. Glad to have had the good fortune to be able to pick these up!

Island Of Lost Souls
The Man Who Knew Too Much
On The Waterfront
Wages Of Fear

Of course there's a sale now that I own all of them.

You're welcome, guys.

Edit: I may pick up some Eclipse.

is this flash sale the best prices we are going to see? not a B&N member so not sure how much Blu's will cost there. Most times I wait for Amazon price matches.

I looked at some B&N prices online recently and some of them were SRP so it's about the same plus tax and shipping. I could be wrong though.

Order them now - who knows how many BNs will be open in July.

Awesome surprise sale. Ordered:

On The Waterfront
Two-Lane Blacktop
The Tin Drum
Robinson Crusoe on Mars

I'm trying to downsize my collection, but I can't get enough Criterions. That's the only part of my collection I will not downsize.
