I was going to do the same, but first I missed out on Third Man and then Pierrot Le Fou went OOP and I just decided to get caught up all at once. I actually just picked up Third Man for $60, and I'll likely pre-order from here on out to make sure I don't miss anything else. I do think that if you can be patient you can save quite a few bucks, and most of these are not likely to go OOP.

Good luck with your patience!

Marienbad might go OOP. if you scroll back a few pages, studio canal is in the process of not renewing their licenses for criterion to publish their films.

I think the same too. Marienbad has gone up slightly in price on Amazon, and it is one that I have seen, but do not own. Strangely, it is rarely up for auction on ebay too. Today, it went into my quick picks for $24 and some change, so I ordered it with my Prime. BTW, I saw Revanche last night, thanks to netflix, that always seems to have Criterions available now, it was one of the better stories I have seen in a while. No cliche ending. Honestly, the first half of the movie had such a nice setup, but so much nudity(and there's nothing wrong with that ), I didn't quite know where the movie was going. But the second half really blew me away. Highly recommended viewing

Regarding Marienbad and Amazon's pricing of it........

I don't know that Amazon has any "insider's track" to the fact that Marienbad is going OOP, thus they raised the price..... it's more than likely either a supply/demand thing, or it could be due to the fact that the original cover (the paper one) was bright white, and embossed, so perhaps they had a lot returned because of damage during shipping..... a small smudge on that cover would look like a sharpie market in the hands of a 3 year old......

They do seal them though...... so perhaps people had damage issues from the initial release that the slipcover didn't fit properly on

That could be it Beta, but it seems strange that it is the only title I noticed that goes up in price. Also, like I said, it has not been on ebay in 2 weeks as an auction. I have been trying to snag a sub $20 copy from an auction, but there are none to be had. Just a strange coincidence I guess.

The price of A Christmas Tale has went up as well, but I'd be highly surprised if it went OOP anytime soon, I think it's just Amazon's random seeming pricing changes.

amz prices are like stocks. i wouldn't put stock in the ebb&flow of biz. i just wished that amz had great B&N sales for Criterion titles. i was mad that when B&N sale arrived, i already grabbed everything day1... now i'm going to wait for all these newer releases to go into that sale =). just hoping amz @least matches the sale(s).

I agree! Just watched Revanche last night, I really enjoyed a film that actually presented an observation on human emotion, motivation and redemption. After reading a synopsis online, I was expecting more of a thrilling action movie with the typical revengeful conclusion, but was pleasantly surprised.

Alex's connection with his grandfather was beautifully portrayed as well as the parallels between Alex and Robert's suffering. The imagery throughout the movie was stunning, especially on blu. Extraordinary.

I'm very glad to hear all these great things about Revanche. Sounds like I really need to pick this one up quick.

That's strange. All of my Prime shipments have come via UPS, Beta. Sorry to hear it's taking so long. Do you have a tracking #, yet?

Majority of my prime orders ship via UPS with the occasional USPS delivery on Saturday.

Cheers,

This is an interesting feature of Criterion movies, I have read many reviews for Revanche but nothing about its nudity came up. You really dont know what your getting into with some of these films and I love it. Its like when I blind bought Naked Lunch...knowing nothing about it I was pleasently suprised :] that movie is just all over the place.

And with all the praise for Revanche I am very eager to pick this on up.

I've never had a Prime order delivered via USPS.

I've seen UPS, Fedex, Local Amazon Fresh Delivery, and Dynamex. I didn't know that USPS could hit the 2-day window.

I prefer UPS delivery because the guy knows me and I never need to be there to sign. Fedex/USPS rarely leaves packages without a signature.

That's a good take on it. I, too, thought the movie was going in a certain direction and when it did not, I was impressed all the more.

I will hold out hope that UPS or fedex etc will arrive today then....

my ups guy leaves all packages at my door (even two PS3's on separate occassions) At the old house we gave the UPS guy the code to open the garage...... but at this place, the garage isn't attached, let alone an auto-door opener..... I'll check the front porch periodically, although tires got left on my back porch by UPS before (Tire-rack)

UPS showed up! Got all three..... now I have some more watching to do..... The wife wants to watch a movie tonight if I don't go out with friends......

Does Revanche' have fairly universal-female appeal? My backup plan is Gomorrah, but I just watched that a week ago.... Otherwise I have to come to an agreement with her, and that often takes longer than watching the actual move
