Edit: I wish they'd allow us to order backordered titles after the sale ends, like they did last time when we had this... but I'm pretty sure more titles went out of stock last time than this time.

Sansho is gone

For sure getting By Brakhage, possibly Bigger Than Life. Not sure what else. It's a tie with Senso, The Music Room, Red Desert, and Kiss Me Deadly.

I hope they saved me a copy of On the Waterfront to ship with Ministry of Fear on March 12th. Ordered them both at the beginning of this month.

Jumped on the following as soon as I got the email about the sale...

On the Waterfront
Ballad Of Narayama

Also picked up Insomnia so I would qualify for the free shipping.

They only allowed back ordered titles last time because problems with the website prevented some people from getting orders in before some titles sold out. I wouldn't count on them doing it again.

I thought I had posted about this, this morning. Kino released this on blu-ray and it's region A blocked. That would likely not bode well for a Criterion release. FWIW the Kino release is wonderful! I wish they had included more extras (very thin there) and I wish they had French intertitles (with subtitles in English), but I can live with that. They did the same thing with Fantomas, which is a great collection with a bevy of extras...a shame it's not out on BD. Flicker Alley released Judex without French intertitles, so it's possible that they don't exist anymore.

Kind of tempted to buy an Ingmar Bergman film but I don't know which one. I am leaning towards Fanny and Alexander. I have never seen any of his films, so I was curious if this is a good decision to start out with or not.

Hey...I'm a vet on this thread, but have never ordered directly from Criterion (please be gentle with me ). Does Criterion ship orders as available, or ship them all at once when they are all available?

Thanks!

Eh, my pre-order of Sansho literally just shipped from Amazon Canada, and I already got On the Waterfront last week, and Narayama a few weeks back. I'm not too concerned with this sale.

I haven't had time to watch On the Waterfront yet, as I'm trying to evict an unwanted roommate. Building super lied when they said they would set traps. I bought my own. I just hope it's only one.

Glad to see people are getting Bigger than Life, it's not nearly discussed enough.
