Ordered 3 movies in the Flash Sale on Wed and still no shipping info. Is it because I'm a first time buyer from Criterion?

I don't think so, I'd assume the orders are processed based upon the order in which they are received. My Tuesday order shipped, but I am in the same boat as you with regards to my Wednesday order.

I didn't pick up On the Waterfront like everyone else, as I try to blind buy as little as possible (even Criterion titles). Added it to my Netflix que, and if I love it, I'll pick it up at the next B&N sale.

Looking at the Criterion site now, you'd think it was just after Black Friday. Guess they know how to get rid of oversupply

On a side note, does anyone know if the rumors about a Playtime restoration and reissue are true? It's really irritating to me that I bought a copy of Chungking Express for $30 on Amazon when they announced that was going OOP, only to see the price drop to $21 for quite a while afterwards, and see that they still have copies available. Playtime, however, is now $70 at cheapest after staying at normal price for about a week after going OOP. Should I wait for a restoration/reissue, or am I up a creek on this one?

I had the Criterion blu ray of Playtime on order but checked reviews and the uk version got better ratings plus someone posted that Criterion did confirm that they will be re-issuing at some point in the future, probably as a Tati set since his other criterion releases are DVD only. I for one am going to hold off on buying Playtime.

Have only seen the 1925 version and like it a lot. I would recommend that one.

I might've guessed it was because you're Canadian but I see that's not the case. It seems we Canadians get the shaft in terms of priority of order fulfillment, even when an order is placed immediately after the start of the sale.

The animal people did not like my personal favorite movie of 2012, The Grey. The wolves in The Grey are a metaphor, though, and it's just fiction.

Depends on where you live. For some reason I get things from them very very quickly. I'm in Ohio.

But seriously, their site usually takes in maybe dozens of orders on a really good day and they just received thousands in a 24-hour period. During the September flash sale I placed two orders an hour apart, and based on the order numbers there were a couple of hundred orders made in between them in that one hour. So they are dealing with a huge volume.

I'm actually surprised that they are shipping already based on past experiences, but they seem to have been better prepared for this sale than previous ones.
