Anyone else hope that Criterion announces a Caesar related film today?
My favorite Caesar-related film...

(Just kidding.... Well, actually, I'm quite serious.)

Best of luck with your move and with your new car! Here's to a rodent-free dwelling in your future.
I had to remove two baby squirrels from my old apartment on two separate events. Both times, I caught the squirrels and let them go outside, but it took some adventurous corralling and strategy. Thankfully, my new place does not have this problem.

As for Caesar:

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0045943/?ref_=sr_2

I think it's MGM owned. Not sure who would have the rights now though.
Heat was never a problem in this building, windows wide open in the dead of winter. Rent payment issues, unlawful attempts at evictions because they screwed up, mice, allowing the building to fall into disrepair and have it looking like a crack house, Yeah that's thwith problem. Not just by building either, all 40 properties they took over back in June have the same issues. They're the company with the most ads up for rentals in HRM right now, and are offering the units for about 50 bucks less than what the current tenants pay, and are willing to give away the first month's rent for free. They are well known in HRM, for all the wrong reasons. My new place is a bit smaller and more expensive, but I'm right on the Harbour now, and it's clean. My current place was so nice under the old property managers. The old super was great. He ended up quitting back in September.

I still haven't watched Sansho because of the mice, as it isn't just one, like I said I caught 3 and there are signs of more. I live on the third bloody floor too. Maybe it will be the first movie I watch once I move since Bell claims I won't have internet that week, and it may take a few weeks to reconnect. I think the next time I talk to them, I'll be telling them I'm switching to eastlink.

I may watch the Blob thus weekend though at the parents house.

Sorry that you're still dealing with Mickey and company...I watched it a week or so ago and might pop it back in to watch it with the commentary. Already watched all of the other supplements. Even though I weakened and bought the MoC Ugetsu...I'm still hoping to see the CC version sooner than later, if just for the Tony Rayns commentary.

EDIT: I just realized after checking out the CC DVD that it was Rayns and not Richie on the Ugetsu commentary...got Ozu and Mizo mixed up.

I also just realized that Ugetsu has a 150 minute documentary on Mizoguchi...that alone will make it a must double dip.

Sounds like a possible Dardenne Brothers script.

Actually, I've killed Stuart, Brain, and Pinky. Steamboat Willie and pals are evading me. Just counting they days until May 1st.

I'd watch Sansho at my parents' house, but they're not interested in many foreign films.

Except I'm not hard up exactly myself. Ihave a full-time job that pays well. It's why I'm able to move to more expensive, mice free digs. I just have to wait until May because of the whole Month notification thing on a month to month rental agreement I made almost 3 years ago under the original property owners.

I'm only poor because of my criterion collection.

We can all relate. March is a big month for me, with The Blob, Badlands, and A Man Escaped.

April and May will be less demanding on the wallet, since Repo Man and Band of Outsiders are my only "priority one" purchases from those respective months.
I mean, I'd like them all someday, but some more than others in the present.

I plan on giving my landlord notice on the last possible day and then moving my stuff out of the front of the building without telling them. I'm doing this because moving out of the back is near impossible and they charge $100 for moving things out of the front. They won't be collecting that from me because they won't know when I'm moving things. I'm going to hire movers and do it early one morning.

I am hoping Life Aquatic comes out for Blu for either June or July I've never seen the film but it seems like a summer type film. I would like to see some other cool upgrades.

It's more likely for July, imo. That's Criterion's second biggest month it seems.

I wouldn't be surprised to see that along with another Kurosawa on blu that month.

I don't have that luxury, it's Nova Scotia law to give a month's notice. Glad it's not year to years, as then it would be 3 months. I'm concerned about getting my damage deposit back from these sleeve bags. Might be a bit of a fight there. The apt is very clean, as I've used so much cleaner and did so much cleaning in the past week. They tried to evict me back in September because they said I wasn't paying rent. I was, they just weren't taking it as their Preauthorised payment is screwed up. It still is. They keep telling me it will kick in soon, so I can't pay rent before the 2nd, to make sure they don't double charge me. They took over June 29th, 2012, it's now March 2013, it hasn't kicked in yet. Freaking morons.

Last possible notice for me is actually 45 days. I'll take all the time I can because I know those crooks will be showing the place as much as they can.

The Life and Death of Colonel Blimp is one of those Criterion titles that never grabbed my attention through the years, and my eyes always glazed over it in stores, but I'm intrigued about the film now that I've been reading the current Blu-ray reviews.

I'll probably pick it up at a Barnes & Noble 50% off sale someday. There's just too much going on this month on the Criterion front, though.

Badlands is a must-have in every sense, because I practically wore out my old Warner DVD copy, and I'm looking forward to seeing the movie in high definition at long last.

I cannot wait to read opinions here from people who are new to Badlands, because this film is really going to blow first-time viewers away.

Fair enough. I caught it on TCM a while back and it's really a Great War film.

Yes, I am waiting for the BN sale to pick everything up aswell. I've got about 40 unseen blurays and 100 DVDs to keep me occupied until then.
