This is the first international movie I saw at the age 15. Great movie. The only thing I did not like is the cartoony cover, it does not truly convey the content.

Yeah that's true, but you get the idea. If I had the choice of A Brighter Summer Day or a years worth of the types of releases that have came out so far in 2013, I'd probably go with ABSD.

I wonder what would be the price tag on that massive series (~10 hrs). I would guess around $150.

Closer to $100 I'd guess. No more than the BBS set.

That reminds me that Shoah was rumored to be released a while back. Would be nice to see that one announced sometime soon. They haven't put out a Blu box set in a while.

BBS is a great comparison.

This month alone has great releases and has made my year for criterion at least good: Badlands, The Life and Death of Colonel Blimp and A Man Escape.

If they can release one of the following, they would make it a great year:

Persona
Bergman's God Trilogy
Le Samourai
Bring Me the Head of Alfredo Garcia (or any Peckinpah in that case)
Ugetsu
Pickpocket
Phantom Liberty
The Discreet Charm of Bourgeoisie
